New job, same old .....?

Lots of stuff has happened in the past month and I've been meaning to make a nice big, well-written post about all of it. I always mean to do that. It never happens. So here's the short of it. I quit my consulting job at the end of November and took a new job that's close to home. No more traveling! Yay!

So far this new job is okay. I don't think I'm ever going to be terribly thrilled with working in IT unless it's for some super cool company (maybe the Redskins or something), but it pays the bills. I have to get used to working for such a large company that has so much red tape involved in getting things done. It's frustrating the hell out of me already and that's probably not a good thing, but I seem to be getting things done in the meantime. I have a feeling once I'm able to settle in and really become a cog in this huge organization I'll feel a bit more comfortable. I don't really work with anyone in the office I'm in, the majority of my group is out in California, so I don't really talk to anyone in the office (except the local executive assistant when I need certain things that I don't know how to do myself yet). That's fine, I don't really need to talk to these people anyway. I have my ipod and I have the internet, what else do I need?

Hmm...I just lost my train of thought...

Anyway, Daisy and I have our plans set for heading to Peru this January. We'll be heading up to Machu Picchu via the Inca Trail on a 4-day hike. It's fairly ambitious but should be incredibly fun. We've been looking forward to this for a while.
