If I had the money, I'd go to this:
"Re-imagining Cities: Urban Design After the Age of Oil". The registration cost isn't much at all, but the flight, hotel, etc. is beyond my means. I'll have to see if they print any sort of summary or book out of it.
For anyone interested in this topic, I also suggest you read "World Made By Hand" by James Howard Kunstler. It isn't a great book by any stretch, but it is an interesting exploration of what might happen to our society and cities if peak oil comes and goes and we don't prepare for it. Essentially, no amount of individual preparation, whether through storing up food or buying guns, is going to help you. It's truly "united we stand, divided we fall".
