TOP FAVORITE "THE GILDED AGE" SEASON ONE (2022) EPISODES
1. (1.04) "A Long Ladder" - Recently transported Marian Brook learns more about New York society’s excluded socialite, Mrs. Sylvia Chamberlain. Aspiring writer Peggy Scott meets the trailblazing New York Globe editor, T. Thomas Fortune. Businessman George Russell receives an indecent proposal from his wife’s maid, Miss Turner. Marian’s surprise visit to Peggy’s family home in Brooklyn ends in disaster.
2. (1.06) "Heads Have Rolled for Less" - While George fights to protect his public image and business, the status quo of Marian’s aunt, Agnes van Rhijn, is disrupted by a mysterious letter about her butler. Her maid, Miss Armstrong, intensifies her racist campaign against Peggy.
3. (1.03) "Face the Music" - George finds his new rail station under threat by local aldermen, plotting to manipulate his company’s stock to their advantage. Marian continues to ignore Agnes’ warnings about her late father’s attorney, Tom Raikes by seeking his company. Peggy is offered a chance to be published by The Christian Advocate, but she is met with several racist demands.
4. (1.09) "Let the Tournament Begin" - Marian’s other aunt, Ada Brook, and the latter’s niece by marriage, Aurora Fane, rush to prevent the young woman from making a huge decision. Peggy and her mother, Dorothy Scott, discover a major deception perpetrated by her father Arthur Scott. Bertha Russell has her final showdown with Mrs. Caroline Astor over her upcoming ball.
5. (1.01) "Never the New" - In the series premiere, the newly orphaned Marian meets Peggy before both arrive at Agnes and Ada’s Manhattan home in 1882. Meanwhile, the Russells, who plan to break into New York society, move into their new home across the street.
