Kim Dickens should be embarrassed by her performance in 'Fear the Walking Dead'

Good Lord, she was terrible! She was Ed-Norton-in-The-Incredible-Hulk bad. Kim Dickens was OK in Gone Girl and House of Cards but she was laughably incompetent at expressing basic emotions in Fear the Walking Dead. I was going to write about that as part of my recaps of The Walking Dead that I’m starting this season but I was so annoyed by that “ ( Read more... )

Man oh man!! We binge watched seasons 1-9 of TWD and LOVED IT so much, and while we're waiting for season 10 to hit netflix we started watching FTWD. First episode was a little slow but we're like "it's okay, they're just laying the foundation...it'll get better.". Well here we are a couple episodes into season 3 now and we're still waiting for it to get better. Every single episode we comment on how bland Kim Dickens' performance is. How uninteresting. How boring. How lackluster. There's ZERO sense of urgency when she's in a dangerous situation. She's emotionless. And the same look on her face all the time is like "hey, do you understand what's going on in this scene?". It's like she's never even heard of "The Walking Dead" and has no idea what's going on. She's the absolute worst character on the show, although the Travis character isn't even that good either. Additionally, tweaker Nick is a bit of a snoozer too. Strand was the only character that was interesting. At this point we feel like Alicia is the only actress in the current cast that can actually act, but i think it's funny that the people casting for the show thought they could pass off some of these actors as high school students when its more than obvious they're in their 20's, LOL!! Anyway, Fear The Walking Dead can't even come close to holding a candle to The Walking Dead. Rick Grimes, Carol, Carl, Michone, and ALL the rest are the absolute best. Best show i've ever watched and i can't wait to see season 10 AND THEN the Rick Grimes movies!!! YES!!!! FTWD can eat a turd.

Its more then that also. Walking dead based off of the comic books really has a sence of scale to its universe and diversity that you don't get in fear the walking dead with locations, cicrumstantial situations that the crew run into and even the outcome and change of many characters being broken by this world. There are many comic book archtype characters with interesting roles and distinct personalities as are the villians that really remind you that this is not just a modern reality type of show like FTWD is kind of portrayed as. This is a show existing in a comic book with villiany like characters, create set piece moments and wars, conflicts awesome fight cheorgraphy. FTWD doesn't even come close to walking dead and its really a sorry excuse for a spin off and what makes this even worse is the terrible acting with the main cast. Aside from Alicia and newly introduced Al are really the only reasons I continue this borefest. Currently have 2 more seasons left but damn its been hard to trudge through them.
