you are the balance

so about my contemporary ballet class.

semester over, new semester, new lesson.
she mentioned it, but our teacher really is big on floorwork, so last lesson was pretty much filled with it. this one has none, which i'm both grateful for and dissapointed by. i was proud of my bruises, but it did really hurt sometimes.

it's leaning towards classical really heavily, too. which, again, i feel ambiguous about. it's comforting, because i know those movements, they're mostly not new to me. and yet it's the newness that drew me to contemporary, learning new things. improving in (somewhat) different styles of dance. i do really love classical however, we're doing a technique-y adagio, and i adore it. i love that it's hard.

the combination at the end is not my favourite ever. i loved the previous one so much, it gave me energy, the music she used gave me energy, and after doing it i would jump up and think 'again, again! i want to work harder!' i loved that one. this is too classical for that.

but hey, c'est la vie. next semester will be different.
