Yesterday was our 3rd Anniversary! WOOT! Yeah...
We had a great dinner at Pauli's. Took advantage of Monday being Half off bottle of Wine night. Then add to that that since I'm on their email list they sent out a coupon for a free desert sampler and 2 glasses of wine. I had no idea what to expect on the desert sampler and we weren't even sure we'd use it but when she came to ask us about desert I asked what it was and she starts listing off all their deserts. Said we could choose up to 5! HOLY BAJEZUS! So we had their flourless brownie, bread pudding, chocolate pecan pie and ice cream with fruit on top. We ate maybe half of what they brought us. I'm sure each portion was probably less than a normal portion but damn it was still a lot of food.
After we left there we both wanted to check in at Amendment 21. It's gotten to be our own little Cheers, which is really quite nice. Something about walking in and having them say your name and knowing what you want to drink before you do. We hung out there for a couple of hours and met another couple who was their celebrating that they'd just gotten married that day! How cool is that.
Also yesterday, I started water therapy (that's physical therapy in a pool). It was interesting. I've done water aerobics before but of course this is different. Yesterday was a really good day for me pain wise, which is kinda of good. It seems like usually the PTs never see me on a good day and wonder if there is such a thing. She and I talked quite a bit about past trauma's (both physically and with the past PTs and their need to push their little fingers right into the trigger points no matter how much worse it's making you feel). Once we got in the water, she pointed out what I was already noticing - my inability to relax. She'd try to move me and if I moved it would be me doing all the work instead of me letting her move me. It was frustrating because I knew it was going on but I couldn't figure out how to change it. I think it will just take a little time as I get used to her and learn to trust that she's not going to hurt me if I let my guard down.
For those interested, I've started a separate
Fibro blog (not on LJ). It's some of my own experience and probably more of research and stuff I've found/read related to Fibromyalgia. I'll spend more time there on my therapies and situation as I'd like to get this blog back to being a general blog rather than so totally focused on my physical condition.
