Sicknasty!

Sooo... Went to Mass. and Maine to see GBS three times. Fran came with us. That was awesome because we haven't seen her since my parents got married and she's really fun. The first show we missed half of because of traffic and things, but they sang part of "I'm Gonna Be," which almost made me cry. That was in a little park in Lowell, Mass.

The next day, we went to Freeport, Maine, L.L.Bean capital of the universe. You should see those stores. The one we went in could fit Jamestown in it, easily (the town or the school). And that was one of three or four. Anyway, we got there early because the show was in a park-type-thing so we wanted to set up chairs so we'd be close to the front. Then we went shopping and crap. We got sushi for lunch, that was great. And at one point I glanced out the second story window by our table and went, "Hey, is that...?" Lo and behold, it was Alan Doyle. Walking down the street by himself with a shopping bag. We almost had a collective fit. So then we went shopping some more. (Let me clarify: Shopping in this sense means going into nifty little stores with things like pajamas with wildlife rocking out on them. A bunch of stores we don't have here. Not like Old Navy and shit.) We ended up going to this leather store because my mother wanted a leather jacket. I felt bad, because of all the cows that died, but I ended up finding a jacket I wanted, too. Then we discovered there was a downstairs. We were actually there for a while, but at one point, my mother having just run to the car or something, I was looking at something and I did that thing where you notice there are people near you so you look up, just out of reflex. Guess who was standing less than five feet from me. Yes, indeedy, Sean McCann. I nearly fell over. He has very piercing blue eyes, you know. He was talking to a woman who was with him, so I didn't say anything. Also because the only thought I could compose right off was "O_O" and they left the store then. But ho shit. That was cool. Anyway, got the jacket. It's beast, but I still feel kind of bad for the cows... Went to the show. We were closer than at Lowell, but still a bit off. And since everybody was sitting, my mom and I felt bad standing up because then the people behind us wouldn't be able to see. So we tried to keep the dancing to a minimum, though I was singing at the top of my lungs the whole time. My aunt and uncles met up with us there, too. They all liked it, that was nice. Oh, and I got a GBS shirt. And my mother got a signed picture of them and a shirt or two.

The next day we went to Northampton, Mass. Didn't see any of the guys on the streets that day, but we did have Tibetan food. That was pretty good. Yak meat, man. Tasty. For the show, we were the second or third group in line (group being two or three people), so we got right up in front. I mean, I was leaning on the stacked stone that made up the stage. My mother and I were right in front of Sean the whole time. 'Twas fabulous. And at one point Alan came up and stood on the ledge where I was for a solo. And I'm pretty sure Murray looked at me and smiled once. I'm not sure, though. And they all have great smiles. Sean seemed like he was kind of sick of it, though. That made me sad. I hope it was just a temporary thing and there's not something wrong. Anyway, the opening band was Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers. They're pretty beast. First of all, the drummer, Boots, looks like Noah Wyle with a beard. And the bassist/keyboardist looks like Kenneth Brannaugh...but cuter. The bassist, Kit, kept coming up to the edge where I was. And I think the vocalist/guitarist, Stephen, did a couple times, too. Anyway, they were awesome. And they were standing around by the t-shirt stand later so I ran over and talked to them. They're all super nice. They all graduated from U. Mass., and Kit apparently graduated with a degree in tuba. That's pretty cool. And I went up to Soucy, the guitarist, and said I really liked the show and it was awesome, and he was like *HUG!* It was funny. Kind of weird, but funny. And I got them all to sign a copy of Glassjaw Boxer. I need a shirt now... But yeah. :D It was sicknasty.

Oh! And I got a pick from Stephen Kellogg as well as Sean McCann. :DDD Woot. I win.

And I finally finished my AP English summer work this morning. It's crap, but oh well. Too late to fix it. I'm not going to wait that long for AP Gov, but I'm sick of working today.
