just a question.........

i have a question for anyone, everyone.

Honestly, what is the point of life? You are born, you live 70 some years, but then.....all that living has gone to waste, because you die. everything you did during your life doesnt make any difference after you're dead and gone. What is the point of going to college, working hard, wasting half you're ( Read more... )

well i agree with amber, i think it's hard to think life has a meaning if you don't believe you're going anywhere after you die. for instance, i believe that (with some ideas from lizzy) you live your life to get to know God. and then when you die, you know him, there are other things involved but he judges you and you get into heaven. i know this is just a half-assed summary of what i think but it is like 11 pm.
if you don't believe in what i do then maybe you think there isnt a point to living. you live, then you die. i guess there wouldn't be a POINT, then.. because yeah you die in the end. but what can you do when there isn't a point to something? like for instance, what do we do in math when there isn't a point to doing the work? we have fun!!! we do stupid things, make each other laugh, draw pretty pictures...i think it's a little like life. if you have no hope, no reason to keep living...enjoy what you can. enjoy the friendships, the laughter (even if you think there isn't a lot of it), every second you have left. enjoy the music, the beauty of the earth, the way each and every thing and every one is made perfectly (or not so much)...enjoy the way you like your toast in the morning (remember that? this is why i suggested it. nice segue thanks!).
this is why i do believe in an after life.. this is why i have religious faith. it's the pat on the back, reassuring you that what you're doing is worthwhile. i doubt it sometimes too but liz, you just gotta have faith.
it's what keeps me here. i just wish sometimes you could see it.
<33 you, molly

au contraire i most certainly do not have to have faith. at least not religious faith anyways. thats my little bit of stubborness for today.

anyways, i love the math analogy! and the toast one...mmm toast.

and that was really profound for 11:00 pm. I'm very impressed :)

Love ya
Liz
