I'm sorry Wessy. I'll see you later this afternoon. I have a question for travis and luke. If drinking alcohol is so wrong, how come Jesus turned the water into wine?

wine back then had about 10x's less alcohol then it does now. any type of fruit juice was also called wine back then also. besides, the whole issue about drunkedness is being able to have self control and having a straight mind. in which, jesus had every second of his life.

I agree with that. I don't think you should get drunk or do anything that impairs you. "Everything in moderation." And, that's a common misconception about the alcohol in those times. ACTUALLY, Jesus turned the water into the most potent wine, if you read the story, you see that the guests asked the host why he had saved the best wine for last, saying that usually they brought out the best wine first so that the guests would get drunk quickly. Then they could serve them whatever they wanted and they wouldn't know the difference. The bible should always be read in context. I hope I'm not offending anybody.

it doesnt say anything about potent... it just said he turned the water into the best wine... and it also says that they would drink so much they would get drunk and then serve the other wine because they wouldnt know the difference.
also, had jesus turned the water into cheap wine.. do you think they would have believed it?
