the anticlimactic chicane concert
just got home from watching chicane. it left me feeling frustrated(!), cheated(!), and left hanging(!). i'm really hoping that big fish either finds a better venue than WTC - which has/d crap airconditioning and crap sound system (more on this later) as well apparently, or someone else brings acts like chicane to these shores altogether.
the lowdown
the performance started out pretty well. the lights, video projections, sounds were all good. impressive fireworks and all. i was looking forward to one of the most awesome live performances i'll be seeing in a long time. d1 was laughing at my dancing throughout the night, as my moves still looked hiphop despite the obvious non-hiphop music. old dog, so i eventually decided to just copy how she and everyone else danced.
anyway, in the middle of a song, the sound system suddenly fucked up. like the live instruments and the singer's mic just went dead, with the bass and bits of chicane still being heard. this happened SEVERAL TIMES throughout the night. three or four if i remember correctly, eventually frustrating chicane and making them decide to cut the performance short. ugh.
got some ok videos, but the sound quality is crap: i was close enough to get a good shot of the stage, but too close to record decent sound.
