So since Dementia fully moved out Saturday with her cats and all, I have been feeling really lonely at home. Still looking around as I walk around the house to make sure I don't kick or step on a cat.
I decided I really wanted to get a pair of cats for the house. I wanted a pair so that they could keep eachother company while I am off to work, or out riding the motorcycle, or any of a number of other things I do in my busy schedule. So I first started by watching the freecycle list as they keep posting animals there. But it seems everyone has kittens. I have nothing against kittens, but everyone seems to want kittens and so I know they will find a home. Plus they would do better with someone who is home more to keep them socialized with people more. So I thought I would jump up on craigslist.
On craigslist I found a ad for a pair of black cats. Not kittens. This seemed like the perfect solution. A pair that already knows each other means I don't have to worry about getting them to like each other or get into a marking battle in my house. So I respond to the ad. Later that evening I get a call back and am told that I could come out and see the cats. Well I assumed all animals like me and therefore I should go ahead and pick up a cat carrier on my way over.
When I show up, the guy who answers the door looks vaguely familiar. He even says "You look like our kind of people." Then he says he thinks he knows me. At this time it finally clicks where I knew him from. I had met this guy at a party at Dementia's apartment.
Anyways, the kitties are doing well at my house. They seem to be opening up to the new place fairly well. They both seem to enjoy the window in the laundry room as it has a large enough window sill for both to lay in and watch the back yard. Eventually they will make it upstairs and probably fall in love with the view out the front window as they sit on the back of the couch like Dementia's cats did.
Ohh well. End of first lj post.
