Summer Reading.

Jul 29, 2006 21:15

So, I have been procrastinating the summer reading all summer
because I have way more important things to do with my time
and way more interesting books to read.
But today
my parents made me take my assignment seriously.
So I started the book
The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison.
I finished it in three hours.
I know I read fast, but three hours was pretty impressive.
It would have been an even greater accomplishment had the book turned out to be good, which it didn't.
It was actually quite depressing.
Though it was well written, and the diction and sentence fluency were well constructed, the plot was very sullen and painful.
Anyways, I feel very relieved to have put that book in my past.
Now I face the brutal task of writing the report.
Ehhk.
I feel myself being ripped from the joys of summer.
Slowly, but surely.
August 14th is approaching.
