Hey it's time for some more Point and Click Collab! Sadly I do not have very much today, but enough to make me want to make a post! HOW ABOUT THAT.
Okay so I'm still drawing with pen in my new sketchbook, and that's kind of hit or miss. This page, for example, scanned super light and there was only so much I could do. The drawings weren't that detailed though so it's not like there are any big losses.
I tried to draw a bit of each part of Kory Land (which is still nameless, I don't even know where to START naming this thing, guys), but turns out I was drawing at work with no references and that didn't turn out too well. The top one is the River Valley and the bottom one was the Deep Sea with a little
Japanese Spider Crab and an isopod chewin' on some Plesiosaur ribs but I didn't get too far on that one because I got distracted by Jimmy and Lorne.
At the bottom there's a little doodle of Jimmy and Lorne turning into their different forms. They kind of do this all the time while they're tagging along with Ssam, unless Ssam tells them to stay in one form. There's a lot of running around in circles and giggling and then transforming on the fly to wrestle like puppies for awhile. One has to be human while the other's a critter, though, they can't both be human or both be critters at the same time for some reason.
The entrance to the Momo's Cave (a modified version of Fiddler's Cave from the Skin Deep comic/my real life) is off the side of a cliff and covered by a giant boulder. As a lion, Lorne has super strength to be able to move large objects like boulders, and as a gryphon Jimmy can kinda fly/hover, although that doesn't really help Ssam much. He can also control plants, which IS helpful to Ssam. The doodle on the right shows Jimmy conjuring up a vine ladder so everyone can climb down the cliff to the Momo Cave, and then Lorne moving the boulder out of the way.
Sfé sent out a call for statues to populate the outside maze in order to guide or confuse Ssam around the labyrinth. These are the Twins, two giant satyr statues that guard a crossroads in the labyrinth. They are covered by a giant grapevine that keeps one satyr's arms permanently tied to the wall, and the other's legs are bound (that's not shown very well in the drawing, though). They talk like
Click and Clack the Tappet Brothers from Car Talk (i couldn't find a decent clip of them actually talking on youtube so I just linked the one where they laugh a lot, you get the idea) and seem to be under the impression that Ssam is a girl and constantly hit on him and refer to him as "Little Miss" and other similar ways. Whenever they DO let Ssam talk to them (most of the time they are just joking around with each other and laughing at hour clever they are, sometimes totally ignoring Ssam altogether), Ssam finds out that one of them always lies and one of them always tells the truth, and Ssam has to figure out which way is the way he needs to go and which way probably leads to certain death. It's a common riddle in these sorts of games, but as many times as I've seen it I always forget how to solve it so I'm still throwing it in. The main twist is that even though one always lies and one always tells the truth, they both can be as sarcastic as they want to be. So the one that tells the truth could say "Oh yeah, the sky is totally red" if he is being sarcastic about it, and the other way 'round for the lying one. SO THAT MAKES THINGS HARDER FOR DEAR SSAM.
Basically it boils down to "Point and Click Collab" I love it amirite?
