I'm in a petition mood today

Feb 28, 2007 13:10

Plug-In Partners is a national grass-roots initiative to demonstrate to automakers that a market for flexible-fuel Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) exists today. I recently visited their Web site, www.pluginpartners.org, and voiced my support of the initiative by signing the Plug-In Partners Petition, urging automakers to go beyond popular hybrid vehicles and manufacture 'plug-in' electric hybrids that run on electric fuel as well as gasoline or other fuels.

Plug-in hybrids are in our country’s national interest because they will reduce dependence on imported oil, decrease greenhouse gases and other pollutants, and lower fuel costs. These cars will be cheaper and cleaner to drive, run on domestic electricity, and give us the option of plugging it into an ordinary electrical outlet to recharge the battery. Because of these many benefits, I pledged to strongly consider purchasing a plug-in electric hybrid vehicle once car manufacturers make them available, even if it costs more than other vehicles.

Thanks for your time. I hope you'll join me in supporting this effort.

Also, on March 21st, Al Gore will deliver a message with your name to Congress. From the algore.com site:

"Now is the time to act on global warming. I know from personal experience that the only thing that will make Washington really take notice and do something to solve the climate crisis is the prospect of millions of committed citizens taking action. It's time to join together and make that happen.

"Sign the postcard to your representative demanding real action on global warming below and I’ll personally deliver it to Washington in March. I’ll keep you up to date on how things are going by email."

Please consider adding your name and your energy to this effort.
