Alright, I have decided to mod my own custom pc using one of my old cases. Which means I get to cut it up, and do whatever I need to make it look cooler and keep my PC runnin nice. So since I have a bunch of pictures thus far, I shall LJ cut it. I have decided I am going to post the whole process, just for fun. Because I like this kinda shit. So the LJ cut is so you dont have to read it and look at all the neat stuff. Your loss!

Alright, I was bored as hell and it was dark and stormy outside. Wait not really...it was bright and sunny...but to me that IS Dark and stormies equivalent to all you sun loving creatures. Continuing on...I realized hey, I am building a new computer, why not build a really cool case too? I have found soo many cool ones to buy online, but I have to change all the fans and add stuff to them to get them to be exactly what I want. So I figured what the hell, lets just build one from scratch mostly. I went down into the basement to poke around at my computer stuff, and came across one of my old cases. Its identical to the one I have my P2 in. Its a pretty decent structure, and add some spice to it that baby can look real nice I think. So I dragged it out and snapped some pictures of it.

Full View of the front and side(where a window panel will go) of it in my basement

What the back of it looks like, also in my basement.

The panels, once removed from the basic structure, also in my basement. Oh and my little Me 109 :D yay german WWII planes. So many projects in my basement heh.

Then it was dragged upstairs into my sisters poorly lit room so I could actually watch myself take the pics and choose which ones to keep on her computer since her camera doesnt have a screen on it.(front of it again)

The side where one of the window panels will go.

My shoe! Also the computers backside. That gets to be changed out with the new motherboard layout.

My shoe yet again, and the computers bottom.

The lovely face plate, which is actually why I chose this case to mod. I can always change the face plate, but I kind of like this basic looking one, I will be adding all sorts of knobs to it and controls and guages though, so itll be spiffy I think. Plus as with everything, it gets a new paint job.

The bare insides on the window panel side, I removed the power supply already, and those wires below go to the fan down there, which also needs to come out.

Now for the small handfull of upgrades I have purchased for it.

This is the top window panel I am putting on the top of it. It is blue in color and etched acrylic window. Its laser cut so it will be all smooth and clean and accurate. It will be installed with window molding around it to hold it in so it looks very nice. Its dimensions are 5.25" W x 11.5" L x ~1/8" Thick.

This is what my side window looks like installed. It has chrome trimming, is laser etched, and will be mounted by hook and loop. Its dimensions are 10-3/8" x 8". I will be cutting out a spot in the side panel for it too.

This is the remote control multi-function panel. It is a fan controller, temperature senser, I/O panel, and remote control unit all-in-one. You get an antenna to install on the back of your computer, and then you may boot your computer up from hand held remote. There are the two guages as seen above that are blue LED lit-up that monitor your thermals for CPU and hard drive respectively. Also a fan speed control switch. Two USB 2.0 plug-ins and one firewire.

This is the Chameleon Multi-color laser light control panel. Those knobs on there are the red, blue, and green color knobs. You can adjust them any way you like to create any color you like, any time you like. Or simply turn off the 4 laser lights inside your computer. With one of these placed on each side of my laser etched side panel that baby will glow, any color I want since it is clear. As with the remote control system its all silver aluminum finished, to match.

Here are some examples of the colors you can adjust it to. Basically your imagination is the limit. Any color man can create from the basic colors red, blue, and green.

There you have it, a couple different twists and turns on the knobs and everything changes. Pretty spiffy and neat if you ask me.

Now here is the power supply I am contemplating.

Thats is its backside that shows out of the computer.

All the cables it comes with that you may optionally plug in, to eliminate cables hanging inside your case that you do not use. Plus they are all inside a squeeze UV reactive orange tubing. Pretty cool. Then the fans and all the acrylic windows on the heatsink itself are orange UV reactive as well. Then to top it off it is a nice mirror finish paint job.

Just to emphasize the point of how cool it is to have plugging in cables for your power supply....it is 500 watt of course, has thermal overload protection, Dual 80mm Fans, low noise levels, short circuit protection, in-rush current protection, and all the works. It comes with these connectors. 1x 20-pin main power, 1x 6-pin AUX(Xeon) power, 1x 4-pin 12V(P4), 6x 4-pin peripherals, 1x Floppy. But, I have not yet decided if I shall use this particular one. A few other models have sparked my interest as well. The other items however, have all been purchased, and I await their arrival so the fun may begin. I may have to go pick up a new metal cutting blade for the jig as well, I am not sure. I should go look, so that when the parts arrive I can begin. I will need to make the templates first anyways, so I guess I will have some time. Anyways, thats it for now I suppose. More to come later! Ideas and comments are always welcome, especially since later on I am going to be doing this as a hobby on the side to make a little cash as well. Just cause its so awesome, and fun!
