i think my tri-yearly update is due...
let me bring you up to speed with my car situation....it all started back near thanksgiving, i was on my way back to school from home when all of a sudden the battery light goes on, as well every other light on the dash..blahblah, my windshield wipers start goin slower, so i had to pull it to the side of the road, er, highway (i was on 290E near worcester) thank GOD for cell fones even tho my battery was almost out, but i called the tow truck and since i have AAA i get free towin for the first 100 miles or so. I waited in the pourin rain for like 45 min and the guy finally came, we towed it to nelsons and the next day we put in a new alternator ($110), cause thats what the problem was....ok, so next, i drive my car to work then back which is like right across the bridge and noticed antifreeze leaking, and alittle smoke comin from the engine, so i was like shit what now...we figured it was the thermostat frozen or something cause it was kinda a cold day, so we went to the zone and put a new one in ($10)..fixed? not even close! I drove it home and my heat meter seemed like it was going up and down, and the faster i drove the lower it went, so i drove like 85 the whole way home, then right when i got to the exit ramp, it went all the way to the H then past H and i thought my engine was gonna explode, so i stopped it in a gas station right off the exit, and let it sit for like 10 min and met up with my dad and we finnaly got it to my house. Next day brought it to the shop and hes like good news, your radiator has a huge crack in it and needs to be replaced, im like great! ($400)....so i thought it was all fixed it sounded good, so me and my mom the next day went to get gas and noticed the heat wasnt coming out, then it got cold and freezing, like the a/c was on and it was like 10 degrees outside as it was and the heat meter did the exact same thing, i was NOT a happy camper. brought it back and hes like we got more good news for u, seems like you blew a head gasket cause theres oil in your antifreeze, and he didnt even wanna be bothered with that so he put some stop leak in and told us to go trade it in, but since i didnt have $ for a trade in and cheaper to fix it, that was kinda not an option. so my grandpa found a really good guy that he used to do business with and hes still fixin cars or something and his labor rate is like 40 an hour instead of the normal 90 with other places, so we brought the car there. he took off the head and found that it wasnt the gasket but one of the corner screws that held down the head was cracked? and supposedly thats really rare, lucky for me...so he had to order screws from all around the country cause like no dealer anywhere near here has a full set of screws...he cleaned all the oil/antifreeze crap and made it all nice, for a cheap $700. i went home all smiling like i had the best car..nothing could posibly be wrong now...well, i started it up the next morening and guess what? the oil light goes on, so i had it goin for like 10 min tryin to warm up the car..but no warm air coming out, so my dad calls the guys back and hes like shut off the car....he comes over with the flatbad and loooks in the car and hes like yur oil pumps gone, so the whole time i had the car on (10 min) i wasnt getting oil into the engine, meaning no lube...metal against metal = BAD..and hes like worst case scenrio il find metal in yur oil pan...so since i worked at the same work place as my dad over the winter break, LEGO, hes like il let u finish your sandwich before i tell u this,...guess what they found in the oil pan? METAL, i was like craaaaaap what now? so i guess there putting a new engine in there, freakin sweet...supposedly low mileaged cars that get total from the side or back and the engine is fine, some guy takes them out, fixes them up and sells them for a quarter of the price so thats gonna be around $700 total? yippe...so the other 700 i paid was for NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!! so as of now i owe my parents like 2500 or something so i yes, i had to take my car off the road for a little while and TRY and pay them back sometime this century, maybe il put it back on by spring break. welp cya in july!
