So I was sitting wrapping some gifts the other day, blasting "Snowed In" for the 11th season in a row.
11 freaking years.
It's almost as if Hanson celebrates Christmas right along side me every year. The songs never get old, and they never will. There are so many good memories of Christmases linked to that CD, from the first year I got it for Christmas (a CASSETTE, mind you. A CASSETTE! do they even still make those?), to listening to it while decorating the tree, to bringing the CASSETTE over to my grandparents' house on Christmas Day, forcing them to listen to it overandoverandoverandover, to accidentally recording parts of it on the computer while my cousin was here and we were acting like crazy kids, to hearing it in every single store in the mall every year and freaking out because it was HANSON, to blasting it in my own car just recently, and completely remembering every single word and never missing any part to the song.
So while I was wrapping gifts, I swear, certain lyrics and words stood out to me more than ever before, probably because I realized that Christmas=Snowed In. Seriously. They go hand in hand.
Amazing what one little band can do!
