Let's see what's goin on...
Last week, I went with Rachel to see Wedding
Crashers. It was really funny!! The movie was better than I had
anticipated, and when it comes out on DVD, I will definitely buy it. If
you haven't seen it yet, GO! I had a good time with Rach, and it was
really nice to FINALLY hang out with her =0P. We came up with the idea
that we should see movies more often...possibly every weekend or so.
We'll see. I'd rather go to a hockey game with her every weekend...if
only I had that kind of cash...
While I'm on the topic of hockey, the NHL looks very
different with all the player signings going on right now. Nearly every
team has signed a star or two. The Wings picked up
Chris Osgood
which truth be told, I'm not really thrilled about. I guess we'll see
if this was a good move or not when the season begins. I'm going to try
to get a ticket (or two...we'll see) to the Wings pre-season game
against Toronto. It is the only meeting between the two here in
Detroit. The game is the first of a home at home series match.
Unfortunately, the two teams will not meet each other in the regular
season(wtf?) because they are in different conferences. Why this move
was made is beyond me. The only good that could come from this is the
*slim* possibility that the Leafs and Wings will meet in the Finals.
THAT would be really cool, but lets face it people, Toronto isn't
exactly a powerhouse team. Like the Tigers, I don't think the Maple
Leafs will be a major contender for quite sometime.
Speaking of the Tigers, last night during their game against the Red Sox, two
streakers
ran across the field. The camera showed part of what was happening and
then quickly switched to the fans, who were cheering like the Tigers
just won the World Series. It was great for those 4 seconds it was
shown....America is too uptight about this sorta stuff. I mean, in
the 80's I remember seeing blooper videos of streakers running around
and the announcers making jokes as if it was no big deal...because it wasn't. Just two goof balls running around. Last
night, the Tigers announcer was play-by-playing the whole incident as
if every child would be scarred for life for having seen some guys
running around in their natural state. People really need to loosen up,
GOSH.
For some reason, the past week or so I've had the song
Dream Weaver by Gary Wright
in my head. I caught myself singing it while working today. Even now,
as I listen to that little clip...I sing along. Someone help me...
