Today has been a different sort of day already
and it's only 10:14
Flipping through the paper this morning, I went straight to my favorite section... Today's Record.
You know, the part of the paper where they have the car accidents and arrests and births and deaths...
deaths....
Let's venture back to a simpler time, shall we? All the way back to pre-school. One day, I was swimming at Lakeside in the 5 foot pool, pretending to be a big kid, when in actuality I was only 4. I wasn't a very good swimmer, so I was hanging near the edge. My mom had called for me to get out of the pool, because ryan, steven, mom and I were gonna go home. Well, as I started to get out of the pool, I got ganged up on by a bunch of kids around me age, and older. The dunked me and held me under, only letting me up every minute or so. Being the unexperienced swimmer I was, I got light-headed and couldn't breathe. The lifeguards did nothing, and my mom was helping steven and ryan get their stuff together that she had her back turned and didn't see. But when she finally did, she shouted at the boys and the lifeguard for not doing his job, and we left.
This probably attributes to a good portion of my fear of water.
Well, today, as I was reading the paper, I saw the obituary for one of the boys that caused me so much pain so long ago. Did I think it was fair? sort of a, turn abouts fair play? No
and for the first time ever, I felt bad for that family. It's not fair what happened to him, he was only 21.
