So, uh... Wow.
Lots of news...
School has not been going very well. I've been headed down the same road I usually head down, where I get behind in work, and ultimately do not do as well as I should. Last semester, this resulted in 4 Fs.
I came to the conclusion that the best thing for me to do right now is to drop my classes for this semester and work. I need the money anyway, for bills and saving up to get a car and move out.
My parents suggested going down to the Navy recruitment place just to find out what they've got to offer, even though I've said several times that I don't have any interest in the military.
Anyway, today, we headed down there before I had to go into work. I figured we'd go there, listen to the guy's sales pitch, and leave. Instead, I ended up being there for two hours, calling in to work to say I'd be late. To make a long story short, I'm really considering enlisting. I head up to the San Jose MEPS on Monday night, and Tuesday night, after spending the day going through qualification stuff (mental and physical tests), I sit down with someone to talk about what sorts of assignments I qualify for.
If I decide to do it, I take the oath of enlistment on Tuesday night.
I'm looking at a few jobs in particular, if I do decide to enlist. Primarily, Information Systems Technician and Intelligence Specialist. I've also got some info on the different jobs under their Nuclear Field program.
I'm still not sure if I want to go through with it, but... I'm a lot more interested than I was.
Maybe I'm still in shock over all this stuff happening within a few days.
