From an email by a Best Shore SA: "Checked in the server, NIC speed is configured as 1000mb full. Still the link is down. Please take action to fix this issue."
What I would like to write: "The cable has already been checked, and it passed, so the cable isn't the fucking problem. Me take action to fix the issue? You take action to fix the issue. You're the fucking SA. I've done my part; the cable has been checked and passed. You're on your own. Figure it the fuck out."
It it was my job to tell them what to do that would be one thing, but it's not. I do my part, and either fix it or kick it back for them to sort it out. On top of that, there is nothing I can do about the problem. Consequently it annoys the hell out of me.
Why, because it's not my fucking job to train them. If they're not trained correctly or lack the skills necessary to do their job, that's too bad. It's not my problem.
There, I feel better.
EDIT: I guess it should be noted that I don't necessarily have a vested interest in seeing the "Best Shore" initiative succeed. That might be coloring my response.
