The best thing about Batman, was that he didn't have super powers. He just happened to be super wealthy. I suppose that is kind of a super power in itself... Hmm... That certainly takes the magic away.
I should invent a homeless version of Batman -- with nothing to lose. Since he'll be starving, he should eat the "bad guys" that he defeats. This not only grants him much-needed nutrients, but it also ensures that villains don't escape from prison or asylums. It also makes it all the more easy for him to get the "misunderstood" reaction from the public and media (which is so adorable in the spiderman stories). Wouldn't YOU be afraid of a resourceful homeless man who ate people who broke the law? It would make ME think twice about giving in to bank robbing, or downloading MP3s.
