Intertextuality Assignment you say?

Alright, so Dr. Christie assigned a paper in which we "choose a work of literature we are familiar with and explain 'what we learn by considering works related to it?'"
The bible (specifically new testament) jumps to mind (since you know, i love combining my majors) but.. is the bible literature? What do you all think?
