Hahahaha. I think they may mind that less since no one will see it. Except you Rachel, as you are my fiance ;D.

Why do you want your tongue pierced? I'd be too afraid that I'd develop a lisp or something haha. Just tell them that you feel you are mature enough to handle this and that you won't let it affect how people see you because you'll be the same intelligent person or something.

Yeah, that might work.
And developing a lisp is the least of my concerns. I'm worried about what might happen if it gets infected. Yeesh!

Just do lots of research on the procedure,
the risk of infection,
taking care of it, etc.
Not only for your health, but to arm yourself
intelligently against what your parents will say.

When you ask your parents about it, have educated answers to their
questions and negative comments.

If they still say no, tell them you'll marry that Fry Cook and
that he won't mind if you do it, he'll even pay for it:)

Hahaha. Or threaten that the fry cook will burn her with hot grease.

i think that everyone, including me, missed the point of this. maybe print off some information that makes tongue piercing look relatively safe/easy/risk free and show that you have researched it/know what you're getting into. ugh, i hate the way parent minds work.
