Characters: Dean, God (Cas), mention of Sam, Bobby and Crowley.
Plot: Dean hasn't left the spot he was in since Cas left as God. He's alone, waiting for Cas to come back.
Warnings: Fluffy and occasionally depressing.
Dean was having another nightmare about the night Cas became God. When his eyes didn't light up when he saw Dean. He hadn't left the warehouse since it happened. It had almost been a year and everyone around him had changed. Bobby was off with his new spouse and Sam was off hunting with other hunters. He didn't want to leave, he didn't want to miss Cas if he came back. He had a journal he wrote in everyday and he read books that were left behind in empty rooms. Sometimes he would write to Sam, other days he would write to his mom but he mostly wrote to Cas. He kept apologizing for the stupid mistakes he made. For not trusting him when he asked, for not believing he was doing the right thing. Dean missed his angel and he didn't realize until it was too late. He picked up his journal and pen for today's entry.

Dear Cas,
How's Heaven? Do you miss me? 'Cause I sure miss you. Sam said I shouldn't because you left us, but I know he probably misses you too. It's been almost a year since I saw you and a lot has changed. Bobby moved and got married to Crowley, though you probably heard. Sam's off on his own now, he's got a few hunters he hangs out with. I haven't left yet because I'm afraid I'll miss when you come back. I know being God is probably a lot of work but just give me a sign and tell me you're alright, okay? I love you and I should have told you when you were still here.
Love,
Dean
P.S. If you see my mom can you tell her I miss her?
He wiped the tear away from his eye and closed the book, setting it down next to his bed. He laid down and stared at the ceiling taking a deep sigh in. He wanted everything to go back to the way it was supposed to be. He knew nothing would change no matter if he prayed or not. He rolled over and fell asleep. Cas flew in silently so he didn't wake Dean up, he picked up Dean's journal and flipped to today's entry. He read the scribbles carefully and looked to Dean's still body. He hated doing this, he hated hiding from his friends. He didn't have anyone left that he considered close, he regretted killing Balthazar and lived in remorse for it everyday. He had no one to talk to, no one to help him through his problems. He re-read Dean's entry and closed the book returning it to it's position. He walked toward the side of the bed and stared at Dean's sleeping body, how peaceful it was in the dim light. He noticed his hand print almost staring at him and without thinking put his hand on it gently. Dean woke up suddenly and saw Cas standing above him. "Cas?" his voice was hopeful. He smiled half heartedly and Cas reflected the smile. "I've missed you, Dean." Cas said as Dean sat up. "Cas I've been here, waiting for you to come back. Cas, I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry. I really screwed up." he started to tear up and looked away from Cas. Cas set his hand on Dean's shoulder, "It's alright Dean. I forgive you. I should apologize for everything as well." he sighed. Dean wiped his face and put his hand on Cas's, "I love you." Cas looked at him, his face melting in Dean's eyes. "I love you too." Cas smiled at Dean and Dean put his arms out, taking Cas close to his chest for a hug. Cas smiled against Dean's chest and pulled Dean closer. "This is all I ever wanted." He said. Dean muzzled his head into Cas's neck and said, "Me too."
