Yes, I know...too much posting today. I am on my own this weekend, and while in some ways that is good (I have a ton of stuff I should be doing) in some ways, I also don't feel like I know what to do with myself. And I am not tired at all.
Two more days at work! My backstaff is already whiny at the idea, but I think they do this to entertain me. I keep telling them I need time away or they will not like me at all, but I am not convinced they believe me (even after my implosion last week)
Ah well, they will get over it.
I'm kinda excited about seeing HMB on Thursday (we have managed to schedule flights that hit Lexington at the same time, go figure) but I feel lukewarm about the Breyerfest Experience this year. I am already not sure how to handle the horses I know I am picking up (my dinner model, and my volunteer model, and I am dying for the roan Smarty, but past that, the special runs this year leave me a bit cold. I like the idea of the Times Square horse, with fireworks painted on him, but the mold they are using...ew.)
Maybe I can find Tack To Die For (I am kinda sorta in the market for an Arab costume, and always on the hunt for Susan BY stuff) or some thing nice and china (I can hope for a Sepse Violette that was as bargain basement as my Crusader....or maybe a Roan Lady?) Maybe Horsing Around will have something Fab to buy...I need to hook up with a china Showman at some point.... I should decide on what to hunt for. IT might be a bad year to chase up Hagens..but perhaps some vintage plastic? A nice gloss charcoal running stallion? Or a nifty new resin?
Or maybe nothing. I think I have nearly convinced Paige Patty that she should glaze the Pixie I won on Ebay...and that will be spendy, but worth it, I think. BTW, Pixie is freaking ADORABLE in person, and she stands very very well. I need a color....
I've never ever judged Breyerfest Live, so that should be cool. I've done the kiddie show twice, this is my first ride at the Big one. I'm not nervous, I know what I am doing....plus on the collectable side, its only Breyers, so that makes my job easier. Collectibility is my worst suit, I swear. I am all anatomy and biomechanics.
HMB and I should have fun at LQ, and I am personally glad that I only NEED to be at the Horse Park Friday and Saturday (all my tent tickets are for Saturday) The flying out is going to be strange though as part of the whole BFest deal is the Journey. There is no journey this year! On the plus I get home at a reasonable hour on Monday, and Dave and I are going crabbing on Tuesday!
I plan on taking garden photos tomorrow. My cukes are apparently done for the year (next year I'll do some succession planting with those) and I am about to be overwhelmed with eggplants. There are a pair of gorgrous purple ones on one plant. I think I am going to hit the Morristown farmer's market for some fish tomorrow, and I found a farm stand in Verona, so I will check that out too. I really want to freeze a bunch of stuff for the summer. I keep toying with the whole canning idea, since I only have so much room in my freezer, but I'm skittish over it too. That whole botulism deal. One of Dave's buddies does can, so I should probably go talk to him and maybe get a lesson.
