Re: Accio AU LetterdrsimontamApril 25 2006, 01:20:27 UTC
Simon was elbow deep in potting soil, worms, and seedlings in Greenhouse 5 when an owl beat its wings at the door for attention. Professor Sprout let the owl in and Simon tried to set the seedling aside without damaging its tiny roots, and brush off the soil without losing any of the powerfully magic gaia worms. All the while the owl flapped about his head and shoulders, obviously excited about the burden it carried.
The Professor finished his potting for him while he read Adrian's letter. He's coming here? On the 10th?
Simon fairly vibrated the rest of the day through his Herbology work, his simultaneous creation of several third year potions, and his review of 4th year Transfiguration.
After wolfing down his dinner at the staff table in the huge empty hall, he skipped up to his room to write a return letter.
Dear Adrian,
I am overjoyed to have your letter in hand and cannot believe that soon I will see you again. Are you sure that you want to return to Scotland so soon after leaving it? You return for the session after the summer break, isn't it?
I'd love to visit India someday, but I've got several subjects to master by late August. So, it won't happen this summer.
If I was a better person, I'd tell you not to wreck your summer plans to come to see me. As it is, I can't tell you how glad I am, and how much I look forward to seeing you. It was a wrench watching everyone leave that day, but especially you.
I wished so hard that day, with every fiber of my being, to go back to my home. And at the same time, I wished that I didn't have to leave you behind. I guess the later won out. For that's all magic is, isn't it? Will and desire?
Re: Accio AU Lettertm_adrianApril 28 2006, 10:23:17 UTC
Adrian was already preparing for his trip to Scotland, packing the clothes he'd need, when an owl fluttered through his window and landed on the desk.
Quickly he went over to fish out a small heap of treats from one of the drawers. The owl hooted softly and held out the leg with the letter. Adrian took it and started reading, smile widening gradually.
Oh yeah, will and desire ... and it had worked in favour of him, of Adrian. To know that Simon felt like that, wanted him as much (if not more) as going home, gave him an incredibly warm feeling inside.
Jeevan's right... you're pining for him. Pathetic. But that didn't change the fact that he was filled with excited energy at the prospect of portkey'ing to Hogsmeade in only 3 days. He wouldn't quite admit it to himself, but he hoped Simon would be in Hogsmeade when they got there.
Pulling himself together and out of daydreams, Adrian sat down at the desk and wrote a quick reply.
Dear Simon,
You're not wrecking any summer plans other than being lazy and fly around on my broom. So going to Scotland to see you is the only plan I have made for this summer. Of course, I'm returning to Hogwarts for my 7th year, but August is very far away.
I'd actually love to help you with your studies, if you want me to. I don't want to take too much time away from that, but I'm also selfish enough to want to spend as much time with you, as possible.
Will and desire, that's exactly what it's about. So perhaps my wish had an influence as well? I'm still sorry you didn't manage to get home, but I'm also very glad you didn't.
I'll see you in three days, I hope, from when I'm writing this letter. We'll arrive at around 10 am at the South side of Hogsmeade, and then walk to The Three Broomsticks.
See you soon.
Love, Adrian.
The owl had finished the treats and had also found Hugin's water. But when Adrian held out the letter, it came to him readily. He wouldn't get a letter back, but he would get something much better after all.
Re: Accio AU LetterdrsimontamApril 29 2006, 17:32:52 UTC
Simon closed his eyes and held the letter against his heart.
Three hours.
Adrian would be here this very morning and he could imagine, sitting in the Three Broomsticks, nursing a cup of tea, hearing the door open, and seeing Adrian, skin a darker shade of golden brown from all the flying in the sun. Simon's cock twitched in his trousers.
"Are you quite all right, Mr. Tam?" Madam Pomfrey's voice waked him from reverie.
Simon got back to eating his breakfast at the staff table in the nearly empty Great Hall. He was no longer panicked by the thougnt of splitting his attention between his studies and Adrian. Yes, it was way too much material to try to cover in one summer, but his memory retention was excellent and his magical power increased steadily. He knew Latin well enough that he didn't fumble the pronunciation of the spells. And though not outright telling him what would be on the OWLs, the professors weren't wasting time on much that wouldn't be in them.
Simon left the breakfast table and went directly to Hogsmeade and the Three Broomsticks. Should he have some sort of present? He'd really like to give Adrian something, but a flower or a silk hankie was too queer. Chocolates maybe, but Honeyduke's didn't open till 9 and Simon didn't dare miss Adrian in case he arrived early. He ordered a whole breakfast so that he could claim the table he wanted in the center of the room, seated facing the door.
Re: Accio AU Lettertm_adrianApril 30 2006, 00:36:07 UTC
Adrian was on edge, impatient to go and not really good company for Jeevan who was taking care of the last details. But his cousin took his own little kind of revenge by doing everything extra carefully and ekstra thoroughly.
With great effort, Adrian managed to keep himself from growling, and clenched his teeth, knowing the portkey wouldn't send them anywhere, before it was time. And as far as Adrian was concerned, time was running extraordinarily slow, just to bother him.
Finally it was time, and once more Jeevan checked if they had all. Then he held out his hand where a large silver coin rested. Adrian took Jeevan's hand, smiling excitedly, and waited for the usual sensation of being dragged backwards into the air by a hook.
He could only think of one thing: Seeing Simon again. In less that a minute they'd be in Scotland, and within ten minutes they'd be at the Three Broomsticks... and then... Adrian only had a small moment to consider the option of Simon not being there to meet them, before they were off.
Disoriented as usual, he landed with Jeevan on a small field, and they took a moment to steady themselves. Neither of them were really fond of portkeying, but it was undoubtedly the easiest way to travel.
They attracted a few looks, walking into the small village. They'd dressed in normal and casual Western summerly style, but their slightly darker skin was a rare sight in Hogsmeade at this time of the year.
It was not nearly as warm as Bangalore, but Adrian did NOT care as he steered directly towards the Inn, eyes scanning the small streets for the sight of a familiar figure. He was slightly disappointed, not seeing Simon anywhere. But perhaps the man wanted to give them time to settle in, and then contact Adrian.
He'd still like to see Simon now.
That's why he stopped dead in his tracks as he opened the door and was faced with exactly what he'd been wishing so intensely for.
And now that he had what he wanted, he had no idea what to say.
Jeevan pushed past his frozen cousin, into the room and glanced over at the table Adrian was staring at. "That has to be Simon Tam then?"
Adrian nodded, not looking away. Bloody hell ... would pouncing and kissing be a bad idea in here?
Yes, it would be a bad idea. At least some of his sense was still present.
With a smile, Jeevan approached the table and held out his hand to greet the man "Simon Tam? I am Jeevan Thirumalai, Adrian's cousin."
That brought Adrian into action as well, blinking out of the stunned reverie. Quickly he followed Jeevan, smiling like he'd just received the best present ever.
Re: Accio AU LetterdrsimontamApril 30 2006, 00:55:00 UTC
He'd skimmed the Prophet, then reread every last word in it. He'd eaten the second breakfast out of nerves and drank 4 cups of coffee and gone to piss twice. At exactly ten minutes past ten the door opened and Simon slowly lifted his eyes.
And sat stunned. There he was. All six foot two of him. Simon couldn't move. I don't care if a never get back home as long as I have him.
Simon shoved the ridiculous thought down as he rose to pump Jeevan's hand.
Shit. That's right. He did say Jeevan was tagging along. Which meant he couldn't grab him in an embrace, couldn't run his fingers up the back of his neck and pull his head down for a teeth smashing kiss.
"Hello Jeevan! Very nice to meet you. Welcome to Hogsmeade. Hi Adrian. How are you?" He held out his hand for Adrian a bit awkwardly. "Do you need to get your rooms?"
Re: Accio AU Lettertm_adrianApril 30 2006, 13:58:54 UTC
Only when the eyecontact broke, did the spell on Adrian break as well and he managed to follow Jeevan over to the table.
Mutely he took Simon's hand and had to stiffle a small gasp at the sensation. The warm contact felt almost tingly and his fingers tightened in response.
Jeevan looked from Simon to Adrian and smiled just a little bit. If his cousin kept persisting he wasn't head over heels with Simon, he'd spank the brat.
"I will get the rooms and get us settled." He said, still waiting for Adrian to answer Simon.
Jeevan's words made Adrian blink and he realised he'd been staring. Again.
At least you're not drooling, ey?
"I'm good..." I'm here "I didn't think you'd meet us here." And that I'd feel like this.
Re: Accio AU LetterdrsimontamApril 30 2006, 17:00:50 UTC
He's staring at me as though afraid I'll disappear... Well, Chaos knows I tried my damnedest to do just that!
Simon's eyes widened when they finally touched. He couldn't stop staring and was vaguely aware that Jeevan said something.
"I-... I can ... meet you later... if you need time to-" Simon said, suddenly uncertain. He began to gesture with his hand but he still held Adrian's with it. So he let go... though he really didn't want to.
Re: Accio AU Lettertm_adrianMay 1 2006, 00:14:49 UTC
"No!" Adrian said abruptly, both to Roger's question and to the release of his hand. And then he just as abruptly closed his mouth, suddenly aware of his outburst.
"I mean," he said more quietly "I don't need to put my stuff away right away..."
Jeevan only barely kept himself from rolling his eyes and laugh. He patted Adrian's shoulder, knowing he'd have a field day later with teasing his cousin.
"I do, though. And then I think I should go on to London, actually. I will be back in the afternoon. So behave!" He poked Adrian's chest with a stiff finger and looked sternly at him.
"Oh ..." Adrian tried to look rather a lot calmer than he felt. We're going to be alone!
"I will, I promise." He smiled then looked at Simon, eyes bright.
"Yeah whatever." Jeevan didn't trust Adrian one bit, but whatever mischief his cousin was up to, he doubted it would do any harm to anybody.
"I will see you later." Jeevan smiled at Simon, inclined his head lightly, and left them to get the keys, and then go upstairs to the rooms.
Re: Accio AU LettertmrogerMay 1 2006, 00:24:18 UTC
Adrian didn't want him to leave but Jeevan was leaving... to London? Adrian didn't want to go to his room... "Nice to meet you," Simon called to Jeevan's back. Jeevan waved and continued on to the bar where he told Madam Rosemerta what he needed.
Simon's eyes tracked back to Adrian's and he felt something twang! between them at the sight.
"Come," Simon took Adrian's hand again and pulled out a chair for him. "Are you hungry? Would you like... anything? God, it's good to see you."
His head buzzed with the need to be alone with this man... to be touching him... skin to skin...
Re: Accio AU LetterdrsimontamMay 1 2006, 15:34:27 UTC
"My room? Back at the castle?" Simon's heart raced. He felt gratified that Adrian wasn't letting his hand go.
Then, "You're taking separate rooms?"
And we're going to ditch Jeevan and fuck as soon as you arrive?
God, I hope so!
"I- I wanted to talk to you about Potions OWLs and other... subjects, but ... my brain has just shut down with the pleasure of seeing you again." Simon smiled a bit goofily.
Re: Accio AU Lettertm_adrianMay 1 2006, 20:26:04 UTC
"Brain? What brain?" Adrian tried teasing with a smarmy grin, to keep his mind of the rather lustful thoughts the look in Simon's eyes ignited. He was not successful.
Gods, Jeevan should get his fucking arse in gear! Now!
"Yes, I told Jeevan I wouldn't spend a single night in the same room as him. He snores worse than a drunken sailor. And I'd rather have my privacy... I need it." Adrian's voice dipped as his fingers tightened around Simon's hand.
Re: Accio AU LetterdrsimontamMay 1 2006, 22:17:23 UTC
He breezed his thumb across Adrian's knuckles then set about lightly massaging them.
"I'll have you know that Madam Pomfrey says I have a very good brain. She has the utmost faith in me!" His hurt look didn't last long.
"Does he really? Has he seen a doctor about that?" Simon asked with a grin.
"You're welcome to stay with me at the castle too, of course. Though I imagine you'll want to check in with Jeevan and keep your eye on him. You're also both welcome to take your meals at Hogwarts. The elves have a terrible time in the summer months. There's not enough for them to do. So any extra mouths for them to feed are appreciated."
Re: Accio AU Lettertm_adrianMay 1 2006, 23:25:31 UTC
Adrian laughed a bit when Simon teased back.
But the offer had him go serious again. Could he really do that? Wouldn't they all think it ... strange, that he stayed with Simon? Adrian was a student after all, and Simon ... wasn't.
"Do you think it would be all right? What would the Headmistress say? And the professors?" He didn't usually worry overly much about his own reputation. But he didn't want to mess things up for Simon.
Re: Accio AU LetterdrsimontamMay 1 2006, 23:49:54 UTC
"Well, I know the visitation rules are relaxed during the summer, and I also happen to know that the Headmistress is fully aware of our relationship. That's not to say that she condones it in any way of course."
He sighed and pulled Adrian's hand to his lips briefly.
"But point taken. We'd best not push it since we do have to get through another whole year there." Simon smiled brilliantly. The coming year looked a whole lot brighter with Adrian in it!
Re: Accio AU Lettertm_adrianMay 2 2006, 00:20:58 UTC
Adrian wasn't really surprised that the Headmistress knew, but still ... the thought was slightly unnerving. But she knew everything, so why not that also. And it wasn't as if Simon had any authority over him, or taught him anything. So there couldn't be any problems in that.
"Yes, a whole year more." Adrian said, smiling widely. Simon was staying for another full year. And this time ... they would have all year! No waiting, no Durmstrang, nothing ...
"But since I have a room here, we don't need to push it. I doubt Rosmerta or even Jeevan care, what I'm up to. As long as I don't destroy anything or harm anybody." He grinned and reached out to put a hand on Simon's thigh.
"That is exactly right, Adrian," came from behind Adrian. Jeevan had returned and for just a moment, he looked at their joined hands. Then he looked back at their faces.
"Here is your key." Jeevan tossed it, and Adrian easily caught it with the hand he'd intended for Simon's thigh.
"I will see you later. Have fun now!" Oh, he was rather sure they would be having a lot of fun.
With that he turned about and quickly strode out of the Inn to Apparate to London.
Adrian smiled lightly at Jeevan, but his eyes instantly resumed eyecontact with Simon.
"We have a key." He said with a sultry expression.
