Engaged!!!
Long story short...Erik managed to get us a private tour of the carillon bells in Duke Chapel tower - he knows how much I love the daily 5pm bells. After he showed us all the bells and the carillon, the carillon-player suggested, offhand, that we could take the steps up to the top of the tower while he played the bells.
I was so busy chattering about the cool view that Erik had to ask me to hush for a moment so he could say something. He proposed, I think I said yes, and that was that! Once we told the carillon-player that it was successful, he played "Ode to Joy", just for us.
It was...incredible. I am so lucky.
He was nothing I was looking for, and turned out to be everything I needed, and more than I ever could've imagined. :)
