As I know I've mentioned before I'm really liking my new lab and new mentor. She (my new mentor) is very cool and very focused getting me to graduate. She's telling me I'll be finished in less then two years. I'm not sure if thats possible, but I'm not complaining. Two years or less is a hell of a lot better then the two-and-a-half to three or more years that most of my peers have left.
I've already decided that when I graduate I am moving some place warmer. I've had just about enough of Minnesota winters. And this was a mild one too. I'm positively giddy at the thought of a job actually pays and living in a warmer climate.
I have also begun studying for the patent agent exam. My current career goal is be involved in preparing and filing patent applications for biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical companies. It should be easier then doing bench work, not to mention it pays a hell of a lot better.
Other random notes:
- There is a new Ayumi Hamasaki CD out.
- I am totally hooked on the Korean rap group Drunken Tiger.
- My salsa dancing skillz are improving noticably.
