Red chain of fate [2/?] anonymous July 16 2013, 18:17:11 UTC
A very unmanly shriek left both of the enemies' mouths when the weapon made contact, sending strange wave of pain through both of their bodies. It felt as if someone was setting fire to their insides. Something deep within them seemed to transfer, move and damn- it hurt, it hurt so much. All their thoughts vanished for a while before the pain simply disappeared, leaving nothing but fragments of memories.

"Celty, my dear, what did you do? Do not fear, I shall support you anyways! I'll even help you bury th- ooow! That hurt!" Shinra complained when Celty jabbed him in the stomach.

[I connected your souls. As long as this chain is between the two of you, you will be able to sense the other one's emotions - the deep ones anyway. If one of you were to get hurt, the second one would feel it too. So you won't be able to fight anymore.]

Shinra clapped his hands excitedly.

"Aah, my wife is so smart!"

Shizuo ignored the chirpy brunet and tried talking some sense in Celty. She couldn't be serious about keeping him and the louse chained together! They hated each other! They couldn't stand each other's presence! It was just so unnatural for them to be anything but at each other's throats!

"Celty, you can't just keep us together! We'll kill each other!"

[You'll just have to restrain yourself. I only want you to prove to me that you can get along. One month. That's not too much to ask, is it?]

"Of course it's too much when it comes to the flea!"

"Mmmph!" Izaya seemed to agree.

Celty finally turned to him and dismissed the shadows covering his mouth. Izaya stretched his jaw and nodded solemnly.

"As much as I hate to agree with the unsufferable brute, he's right. This is bullshit, Celty-san"

[ENOUGH! I DON'T CARE! GO HOME OR WHATEVER AND DON'T COME BACK UNTIL THE END OF THE MONTH!]

The black substance around them started growing and growing until they finally left the door, Shinra shutting it behind the two of them happily, mumbling something about 'genius soulmates' and his 'sweetheart knowing all the right answers'. Izaya sighed as soon as he was out of the door. He really didn't want to spend any more time than needed with the unsufferable protozoan. This was completely absurd. He had better things to do than listen to this man's screams and complains 24/7. He didn't want that man in his house, but he didn't want to stay in Shizuo's tiny apartment either so if he had to chose a location it would be his place. Shizuo knew where Izaya lived after all, so it didn't change much.
