haha, i'm an inconsiderate person and don't lj-cut much. XD;; i probably should, though. I ramble too, but i cut it down before I post, I guess. .__.;;
Your posts are short enough and not frequent enough to warrant LJ cuts. XD I just spam because I have nothing else to do much of the time, so to make up for it I'm trying not to eat as much space up. ^^;
b-but mine are the exact same thing too, half the time .___; either that, or CRYSTAL RED IS AWESOME / BLAH BLAH BLAH KAT-TUN / HEY YOU LOOK AT THIS. orz orz orz. ;;;
thank you! ;o; I-I think yours are interesting too~ it's funny, how a lot of LJ depends on mutual interest between people, and in theory you wouldn't think it would work, but it does - somehow. i guess, in the end, you're more interested in other people's lives than you think you'd be?
Indeed. I think a part of it is that it sort of feels like other people lead more exotic lives than you. They have really interesting conversations or have funny things happen to them all the time. It's like reading a book, except a lot more flaily and spastic.
Though perhaps we're all just huge creepers and like to peer into other people's lives. ..this is coming from a person who took psych. Shows how much I learned. XD
I guess it's because we don't know every detail of peoples' lives that we keep interest, 'cause we want to know more. It's funny how when you post, you subconsciously tend to want to post about the more extreme ups and downs. Nobody wants to hear about that conversation you overheard on the bus, but you think that people might be interested in that funny conversation you had with a friend. I guess you also kind of filter things so that things just sound more dramatic than they are? idk, I know I do. ;;;
lmao, that's probably it. i guess it's a kind of subconscious need to keep up with everyone so that you know they aren't competition (for what? is the question). I read something interesting once on gossip, maybe the same applies to flists? :/
It's something like that, I think. In some ways, we want people to think we're more interesting than we really are. It's sort of like social desirability bias in that we'll either over-dramatize things to make them that much more interesting though in SDB it's lying to make ourselves look better, but no one really does that online. You tend to think that maybe if you write about this which is relevant to the interests of people that might pass by your entry, they'll read it and maybe comment
( ... )
Even if we don't lie to make ourselves look better, we'll still choose bits that put us in a good light, right? (well, most of the time). since we only divulge bits and pieces (or, rather, feel as if we can only do those bits and pieces because too long and we're "tl;dr"), I guess. D:
(sorry for the short reply, friend's over right now /D;;;;)
I don't lj-cut stuff because I'm lazy and entitled. >__>;; my lj cuts work for me though, so that's good. :3

Ahaha, I'm trying to cut anything that ends up longer than ten lines because flists need room to breathe. And I tend to ramble. /D
