I didn't check my flist yesterday, which was probably a good thing because the first thing that greets me when I scrolled past some NEWS news was this meme:
When you read this you're tagged. Take a picture if you in your current state, no changing your clothes or quickly putting on makeup. NO PHOTOSHOP. Show your f-list the real you!
Y'all caught me in all of my single-lidded glory after I'd just showered, so I am without make up and with slightly damp hair. Yay for my blemished, pink face! :D You can, however, really see how well the papaya soap I've been using is working, especially on my hands and neck. *u* I feel so pale~
...yes, this is an accomplishment for me. >___> I have recently read too many Asian fashion magazines, and I didn't really like being super tan anyway. XD It's just an awkward color on my skin and being oily is the worst when you're tan. Dx
I got tagged in other memes but I'm too lazy to type up long, rambly answers right now. =___=
Euh, what else. Um, I watched Dare ka ga Watashi ni Kissu wo shita like, Monday, and then again when subs came out. Basically, I read the book and I really despised Naomi's character, as well as James (Yuji), Winnie, and Ace, and like everyone else. I think the only characters I really liked the entire book through were Alice, Yvette (Yumi), and Naomi's father. Will was on and off for me, tbh, but the movie...
I can see why it wouldn't be very popular; the mix of English and Japanese was awkward, especially when it was late at night, I was watching for the first time, and had to switch my brain from English to Japanese a lot. The editing was choppy (but that doesn't really bother me much) and overall sometimes the script was weird.
Buuuuuuuut I liked it. XD I don't know why, Naomi's character was just a whole lot less irritating for some reason, probably because I like Maki. :x And Ace's character was much more believable, like when he came in through the windows (like, wtf?) but Anton Yelchin actually pulled it off pretty well. He was like an eager puppy or something, idk.
Winnie... okay, so I still don't like Winnie, and Kylee is not the most amazing actress so that was pretty ugh. Yuji was more or less more tolerable too, although I still didn't like the character. XD I just. Matsuyama Ken'ichi is attractive, okay? /shallow >__>
The storyline progressed better than in the book too. I loved the camera transitions, as weird as they were sometimes, but like the very opening during school pictures? Awesome. *____* And whenever they took pictures, like during her photo project and the wedding, seeing the shots was kind of really awesome. It just drew you into the film.
TEGOSHI'S ENGLISH WAS A MAJOR PLUS. XD I had to flip through the book to understand what he was saying the night I first watched it, to be honest, but mostly when he said "I'm peesed" was just. IDK TEGOSHI. Maki's English was more impressive, though sometimes it sounded... out of place. Like the volumes didn't match up. I don't know, but it wasn't bad.
Now the couples. :'> Total fan of Ace/Naomi tbh, because they were cute together. I liked Yuji/Naomi less because there was so much angst and sad and emo that I couldn't enjoy when they were together. Yuji's so very dark. ;A; Will and Naomi were such cute bffs though. :'< The planetarium scene when they kissed was just aaaaawkward but when he visited her in the hospital it was adorable.
BUT MY FAVORITE. *_________*
Alice / Yumi
"Guilt, maybe? You cry every time you break up with me, Alice."
ARE THEY NOT THE CUTEST THINGS EVER A;FLKAL;KDJFA;LJSD
They are adorable, okay. ;___; It pains me that newshfan translated the line in which Yumi says that she and Alice are dating and thus she is jealous of Yuji as that they both have boyfriends but Alice is a man-hunter anyway. idk, I love their characters; they are just so adorable together, even if Alice is a little bit sketchy sometimes. But she's fiercer than she looks (hey, she says so herself!) and Yumi is fabulous. Like. Her clooooothes. *____* No wonder she's in costuming.
...idk, I love them. They are so awesome. <3 Totally the highlight of the movie for me.
I have also become a little bit of a Kiritani Mirei fan. She's gorgeous and looks like a mix of Mizusawa Elena and Aragaki Yui, except awesome. 8D
Shounen Club in Osaka day one aired today here in the US so I watched it this morning. I can name a lot of Kansai Juniors now, which is an accomplishment to the max considering how little I see them. Aaaaand Yoko singing "Kicyu" was so very UNF. He's a better dancer than I remembered. Or... thought. XD Maybe it was just the sparkly jacket and pants.
And now I go watch more Youtube videos--I mean, write--I mean, study for Euro. >___> Mmhmmm.
