WOW!!!! These are gorgeous! I am so excited!! They look awesome - I love them!!!
I'm trying desperately to finish this train wreck of a costume of mine - it's two parts strange and one part goofy. I'll probably look like an idiot in it, but at least it will be in character.
I'm seriously over the moon with these gloves. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Re bingo mods- I want to think of myself as a decent enough fangurl that the mods dont get invovled. LOL.
Oddly, one of my very first sewing projects ever was self patterning and making gloves. (Snape's dragon hyde gloves in uphostry vynil) They were a bitch to get right, but I learned alot. Even with a butterick pattern, which didnt exist when I first made gloves, runs SMALL even though the sizing is up to a 9. My hands are almost a 10 in gloves. Mens gloves don't cut it either. If I made these gloves form me, I would have made the thumb hole larger, and extended the fingers by at least a quarter inch and I would have cut the "flanges" a bit longer and thicker as well.
I made those on my vintage early 8s kenmore portable. The kenmore is a versitile little machince. For power I use the uber vintage singer 401. =)
I just made them to pattern. Not so much making them smaller. If anything I made the sleeve and the palm area larger than for me. It is the thumb and the fingers that I did not expand. I just hope they fit teddy, that is a crap shoot on my part.
