Fur collar is done

Some fast pics  to document what I did.

I had washed this fur using shampoo.  Not supposed to do that, but I did.  It did clean up.

The dirty rose pink fabric is backing that was on it.  I tore it off.  It wont come clean. See how dirty it was.

I sewed green scraps from the agusta costume to make a new back.   I had no pattern, and the old peieces looked liek they were jerrymandered on, so I continued the tradition.   As I was working it, the seam at the neck skewed, but I dont care.

What you dont see is the bias tape infrastructure that's holding this poor dead animal together.   Although it's in chunks, it's got structure and should survie the packing and abuse at a con.  All in all, a success IMHO.

ALSO- I inherited some WISS Pinking Shears.  Except they wont cut crap, and these are supposed to be good scissors.   So I tired cutting paper...they work.  Tried a hint that said cut through layers of foil to sharpen them, well they cut the foil nice, but it didn't work.   These things rip fabric.  Any hints, or are they too far gone to bother with professional sharpening?  These shears are very stiff, I used break free to ease some of that, but these are really tight shears.   Any help would be appreciated including if they are a lost cause.
