You should see the other guy...

My little car (2004 Honda Insight) got in a brief scuffle with a Ford F-150 pickup truck. And lived to tell the tale!

No humans were hurt, as we were both going about 0.5MPH (0.8KPH) in reverse (backing out of our respective parking places) but my car got its fender crumpled. Thank heaven for good insurance -- they already cut me a check for the repairs (minus deductible). If the other guy is found to be at fault (I don't know how they could find otherwise) I'll get another check from his insurance company, to cover my deductible.

I couldn't even see any damage on the F-150, but apparently some chrome on its bumper came off or something.

In other frustrating news, I seem to have cheated myself out of between US$22.00 and US$88.00. I shipped an insured package to Australia and one of the four identical items inside arrived broken. I filed a claim, and assumed the payment would go to the recipient (I'd already been paid). A few days back, I got a form from the USPS that said I could collect my damages if I filled out another long form, provided proof of value (I've got that) and the original receipt.

THE SHIPMENT WAS MADE IN BACK IN APRIL!!! I normally keep all of my shipping receipts, but in April, Adobe was being bad and refusing to print my international postage, so I bought the postage and insurance at the post office. And I apparently didn't keep the receipt, because it's nowhere to be found. AAAAARGH!!!!
