Yunho/Jaejoong | pg13
they have to get married because of a dumb promise their grandfathers made to each other

“This isn’t right, Jaejoong.” Professor Song sighs, placing Jaejoong’s dissertation down and looking at Jaejoong. “It’s too vague and all over the place.”

“I’ve slogged over this for more than a week now. I am not sure where I am going wrong.” Jaejoong replies, a pout threatening its way to his lips.

“I know that. I also know how much work you are putting into this.”

“So, what am I actually missing out on?”

“The way you are writing it, putting in all the information. I need your input, your opinions. You’ve done your research and jotted down the points and that’s not exactly what I am looking for.”

“Alright, I’ll rewrite it and send you a draft by tonight.”

“Why don’t you give in a draft by tomorrow? I want quality work, I expect a lot from you.”

Jaejoong smiles nervously; “I am not sure if that’s what I want to hear right now.”

“You’ll be fine.” Professor Song waves it off. “In fact, why don’t you talk to this one ex-student of mine? She’s about three years your senior and she had the same trouble, maybe she can help you out.”

Professor Song pulls out his phone and pens down a number on Jaejoong’s dissertation. “She’s really nice so she’ll help you out.” He smiles.

“Thanks professor. See you tomorrow.” Jaejoong picks up his dissertation and walks out of the classroom and instantly feeds the number into his phone.

He’s got a message from Jihye and its two words that makes his heart jump to his throat.

he’s home.

Jaejoong wants to rush home immediately but he still has two hours’ worth of classes to attend and he can skip it but he’s already missed enough classes because of this wedding fiasco so he should really stay. But, Yunho.

He’s in two minds when he spots Heechul. “Hey, Heechul. Was sitting with - “

But Heechul pretty much just walks past him and Jaejoong looks at his best friend brisk walking away with wide eyes. “Hey!” He calls out, running after Heechul. “Hey, wait up! Heechul!”

Jaejoong reaches out and pulls Heechul back by his elbow. “Heechul what are yo- “He stops when he sees the red puffy eyes staring back.

“What?” Heechul snaps. “Do I have something on my face?”

“You. What - what happened?”

“Nothing. I’ve got to go - “

“It’s Hankyung isn’t it?”

“I’ve got to go, Jaejoong.” Heechul pulls away and walks away. Jaejoong frowns but keeps his distance, if anything he knows that he has to wait for Heechul to actually want to talk.

Jaejoong’s turns his attention back to his phone and re-reads Jihye’s message and again, he feels all fluttery and gooey on the inside. He grins widely and replies; what is he doing?

As he waits for Jihye to reply, he sends a quick text to Alexis Yang, Professor Song’s ex-student, but, the big decision still remains impending. To go back home or to stay for classes and just when he thinks; fuck it, I am going to see Yunho, Professor Song calls out to him.

“You won’t believe your luck.” The professor says. “Alexis just called to tell me she’s on her way to meet me and I spoke to her about you and she said she would love to help. So stay back after your classes, hm?”

Jaejoong wants to sob.

“Sure thing, Professor.” He says, fake smile and everything.

“It is your lucky day. “ The professor grins as he pats Jaejoong’s back and walks away and just then, his phone buzzes.

he’s getting ready for work ):<
Some important meeting apparently. Call him up and ask him to stay put and come home asap

Jaejoong sighs loudly as he walks towards the cafeteria and dials Yunho’s number.

“Hi you.”

Jaejoong really wants to sob at the familiar voice on the other end. He tightens his grip on the phone and smiles. “Hi, welcome back.”

“So glad to be back.” Yunho says. “I thought you were going to be home to welcome me back.”

“Trust me, I wanted to but - “

“I know, I know. College and classes and all. I understand.”

“Hmm, anyway, why are you off to work? Can you please rest?”

“I - okay, this is really important, I can’t miss this. I have to talk to dad about the meetings that took place and it cannot wait.”

Jaejoong wants to laugh. He wants to cry. He wants to reach through the phone and kiss Yunho.

“Yeah…I have some things to take care of here too.” He says. “I have to stay back after college hours and meet someone.”

Yunho gasps dramatically from the other end. “You are having an extra marital affair? And look at you being so shameless about it! Who is it? Its Hankyung isn’t it? I knew you were attracted to him.”

Jaejoong giggles; “Let’s not talk about him. I think Heechul and he had a huge fight.”

“Oh, that’s sad.” Yunho says and Jaejoong can hear Yunho shutting the door to his car. “What happened?”

“I am not sure.” Jaejoong replies. “Heechul won’t talk about it till he feels like it. But, I think it’s a big deal, Heechul looked like he was crying.”

“Ah, college and all its bittersweet break ups.”

“Don’t say that!” Jaejoong exclaims. “I don’t want Heechul and Hankyung to break up.”

“I am sure they don’t wanna break up either.”

“Boo you.”

“But, if Heechul needs you then you stay by his side, alright?”

“As if.” Jaejoong snorts. “I want to see you first. Everything else comes later.”

“I am flattered.” Yunho says and he sounds surprised; pleasantly surprised.

“You sound shocked.”

“I am.”

“Yeah well - “Jaejoong shrugs and laughs. “I -I’ve missed you.”

“Aw, you.” Yunho chuckles. “I am going to try and come early to your campus to come pick you up. Sound nice?”

“Heavenly.” Jaejoong sighs.

“See you in a few.”

“See you.” Jaejoong smiles and hangs up.

He looks at the time on his watch and wants to throw a tantrum; he’s got two more hours of class and then he needs to meet Alexis Yang.

Alexis Yang is a tiny woman with a sharp tongue. And she had the exact same problem Jaejoong had when she had to submit Professor Song’s dissertation and she is more than willing to help Jaejoong.

“Why don’t I forward my dissertation to you so you can look at it yourself so you get an idea.”

So far, she’s given Jaejoong a reading list, web links and her ex classmate’s dissertation, whose topic was similar to that of Jaejoong’s.

“You are so helpful.” Jaejoong says, penning down his email id for her. “Thank you so much.”

“Hey, it’s chill. I know what you are going through. And trust me it won’t be difficult once you get an idea.”

“But still you took some time off and you sat here with me - “

“Hey, relax.” Alexis smiles. “Let me know how it goes. Don’t hesitate to send me an email if you need any help.”

“Sure thing. What do you do anyway?”

“Working as a financial advisor for this corporate company.”

“Oh fancy.” Jaejoong grins.

“Ugh, not really. My boss is some kind of a workaholic prick. He doesn’t believe in vacationing or taking a breather.”

“Oh.” Jaejoong smiles, thoughts flying to Yunho. “I know how that feels. I live with someone like that.”

“Awful, isn’t it?”

“Meh, they aren’t that bad.” Jaejoong grins. Alexis opens her mouth to say something but one of Jaejoong’s classmates pops his head inside the room. “Um, Jaejoong - there is someone here to meet you.”

Jaejoong instantly knows who it is. He smiles widely; “I am coming.” He says, heart thudding in his throat as he packs his bag.

“Ah, girlfriend?” Alexis wriggles her eyebrows.

“Not really interested in girls.” Jaejoong shrugs, swinging his bag on.

“Boyfriend then?”

“Hm, you can say that.” He giggles, face growing warm.

He follows Alexis out of the classroom and stops mid-step when he sees Yunho standing at the end of the corridor, dressed immaculately in his suit, reading something on his phone. Jaejoong feels his heart rate increasing and jaws hurting from all the grinning. It’s been about four days and Jaejoong cannot believe the kind of emotions that rushing at him, he’s missed his husband so much that it’s a little overwhelming. He looks so handsome and perfect and Jaejoong cannot believe that he’s isn’t skipping his way to Yunho.

“Ugh what the actual fuck is he doing here?” Alexis groans and Jaejoong turns to her. “Excuse me?”

“That man over there.” Alexis points to Yunho. “That - that’s my prickly boss. I am sure he is here to give me more work or something.”

Jaejoong’s eyes grow wide as he looks at Yunho and turns back to Alexis. “He-“

“Yeah, man. Workaholic prick.” Alexis grumbles. “The one time he went out on a vacation to Bali, he called me up at the crack of dawn to get some information about some client’s stocks. If I didn’t love the pay as much, I would have quit then and there.”

Jaejoong thinks back to the day in Bali when Yunho had left him all alone to attend a meeting and he bites back a smile. “But, he’s good looking, no?”

“Oh my God, yes! Okay, he’s really handsome and fuck, have you seen his body? I mean, he’s a complete perfectionist and gets pretty anal about things, but shit, would I want to do that? Hell, yes.”

Jaejoong giggles loudly and Yunho turns at the familiar sound.

“Hey - Oh, Ms Yang, hello.”

“Good evening, sir. What are you doing here?”

“I was going to ask you the same thing.” Yunho smiles.

“I was just helping out one of my Professor’s student with his dissertation. You?”

“I was just here to pick up the same student to take him home.”

Jaejoong watches with amusement when Alexis’s face widens with realisation. “Jaejoong is your boy-I mean, husband?”

“The one and only.” Yunho grins, turning to Jaejoong.

“Oh my God!” Alexis exclaims. “Shit, I am so stupid! That’s why your name sounded familiar. You are the Kim Jaejoong!”

Jaejoong bursts out laughing; “Really, it’s no big deal. It’s a small world.”

“No, I mean, yeah.” Alexis laughs. “And, oh god,” She groans thinking back to the conversation they had. “I am sorry about the earlier conversation - “

“It’s between you and me.” Jaejoong says with a wink.

“What conversation?” Yunho butts in and Jaejoong turns to him. “Nothing you need to be worried about.”

Alexis grins widely; “Anyway, I am going to run, I’ve got someone waiting for me too. See you at work, sir. And you, don’t you hesitate to ask me any doubts about your dissertation, you hear?”

“Loud and clear.” Jaejoong smiles and waves as she walks away. He takes a moment to take deep breath and turns to Yunho. “Hi.”

Yunho smiles and bites down on his lower lip; “I swear to everything I love, if it wasn’t your college campus, I would have kissed you right now.” He says and Jaejoong’s heart is thudding in his throat again, his palms are sweaty, he’s numb all over and he wants to do nothing but pull Yunho down for a big smooch.

“C’mon.” Jaejoong grabs hold of Yunho’s wrist and pulls him to the exit. “Where is your car parked?”

“Right outside.” Yunho says and the couple are close to running out when Jaejoong bumps into Heechul.

“Oh, sorry, I didn’t see you coming and- “

“You’ve been crying.” Jaejoong comments. “Again.” He lets go of Yunho’s hand and takes Heechul’s. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing. Hi, Yunho.” Heechul tries out a fake smile and Yunho looks at him in concern.

“Heechul, you fat liar, can you please tell me what the problem is?” Jaejoong scolds, studying his best friend’s puffy eyes, red nose and tear stained cheeks.

“You know, I am one hundred percent fine. Yunho probably just got back from his trip and the both of you would want to spend time together, so please, I’ll talk to you later?”

“Heechul.” Jaejoong frowns, not letting go of Heechul’s hand. “What is it?”

“Jaejoong, please.” Heechul looks at Jaejoong angrily, tears pooling around his eyes. “I will talk to you later.” He fights out of Jaejoong’s grip and brushes past Yunho.

Jaejoong watches his best friend storming away, worry etched on his face.

“Hey, you want to run behind him?” Yunho asks kindly.

Jaejoong turns to Yunho with a sad smile; “No, he’ll talk to me. He will be fine, I am sure of it.” But he doesn’t sound very convincing to himself.

“Let’s go home?”

“Yes please.”

They walk to Yunho’s car in silence, Jaejoong’s mood completely turned off by the distraught look on Heechul’s face. He’s never his friend look so sad and lost. The last time he looks this upset was when his parents were getting a divorce. But he had gotten over that in less than an hour.

“Hey, car is here.” Yunho snaps Jaejoong out of his thoughts.

“I am sorry.” Jaejoong mumbles, shaking his head. “I really am.”

“You’re thinking about Heechul, aren’t you?”

“No. Yes. I mean, I don’t know, in all of the twenty years I’ve known him, I’ve never seen him this sad. “

“Do you want to go to his place? I can drop you off.”

Jaejoong looks up at Yunho and smiles sadly; this is not how he imagined this meeting to go. He had imagined kisses, tight hugs, more kisses, a nice long drive, dinner and lots of conversation. He steps up and wraps himself around Yunho and lays his head on the taller man’s chest. “You’re too good to me.” He says and smiles when Yunho tightens his arms around Jaejoong. “It’s okay, you can make it up by giving me whatever I want.”

“You’re gonna ask for blowjobs.” Jaejoong says, leaning his chin on Yunho’s chest.

“You can’t blame me.” Yunho shrugs.

Jaejoong pushes Yunho against the car and leans up to kiss him; “Jae- “

“Shut up.” Jaejoong mumbles, clutching Yunho’s collar and taking his time to enjoy Yunho’s lips. Yunho brings his hand to cup Jaejoong’s face and pulls him closer. “Wow, I’ve missed you.” Yunho says, pulling back slightly to stare at Jaejoong’s thoroughly kissed lips.

Jaejoong smiles dreamily and leans in to kiss Yunho in between his collar bones and feels a little rewarded when Yunho takes an sharp breath. “Did Noona - “

“Yes.”

“Wow, I hate her.” Yunho mock frowns and pulls Jaejoong in for a kiss.

“Do you have have to go?” He asks, in between and Jaejoong shakes his head. “No, no, I don’t. I don’t have to go. I want to stay with you. “

“What about - “

“Don’t.” Jaejoong says. “Stop before I am overcome with guilt and I leave you here high and dry and turned on.”

“I am not - “

Jaejoong raises an eyebrow in argument and Yunho throws his head back and groans; “You are the devil.”

“Come on, let’s go home and…you know, continue.” Yunho says, pulling out his keys.

“Oh yes.” Jaejoong grins, pressing for one last kiss before walking around to get into the passenger’s seat. “I need to tell Jiwon about this - “Jaejoong stops when he sees the ridiculously huge grin on Yunho’s face. “What?” He asks, frowning.

“You are so cute.” Yunho smiles. “Noona had all our things moved to our apartment today morning. We’re not going to the mansion.”
“Oh?”

“It’s gonna be just you and me, baby.” Yunho winks.

Jaejoong feels goose bumps all over rise his body as he stares at Yunho, he leans in and grabs Yunho by the neck and kisses him hard and deep. “Great.” He says. “Get us there fast.”
