Well the Stella Adler Summer Day program has finally come to an end. It hasn't fully hit me yet that I'll never close to 90% or the people I've met (if not all) ever again. My mind refuses to accept I won't be walking up the blue staircase yet again this Tuesday. Final scenes today and yesterday went quite well, and to my surprise I recieved many compliments. Alice was extremely happy with the Ah, Wilderness scene, and at least two people told me despite the cheesy nature or the text our scene was so believable. Heh, even my innocence and purity was believable to them. Angela has been quite pleased with twelfth night yesterday, but she complimented me again today for Twelfth Night and Ah, Wilderness. Alithea, voice and speech teacher, told me I have a new voice not the one I came in with, called me an A+ voice and speech student. Judy, a girl from group A I've spoken with a few times pulled me aside to tell me she thought I was really good after my Shakespeare scene yesterday, and was even more impressed by my scene today. Ok, I'll stop with the self-praise now, but I was entitle to it since it's something I rarely do, and I was honestly shocked by the things people had to say about me. I don't think a single drama major at Vassar would have believed it.
As much fun as the city has been, lingering here each moment is making me blissful and sentimental, refelctive of the past ten weeks. Wonderful as they were it's time to move on to something new, which tomorrow will be vacationting in Southold with mom, Laura, and various other relatives. To be followed by Garrett's visit, and some catching up to do in Baldwin. I'm quite anxious to get back to Vassar already, excited about living in a TA, taking Director's Art, seeing people I haven't seen for months, etc.
Don't worry NYC, I'll be back soon.
