So today I compared and contrasted the two pilot episodes that were shot for Full House.
Not completely of my own volition, mind you. Genevieve got the first season for her birthday from George and she was first showing me the horrifying
original Danny Tanner in the first pilot followed by the exact same episode done with Bob Saget. I never in my life thought I would appreciate Bob Saget so much in that show. Thank you John Posey.
Anyway, in both of the pilots, Jesse, when trying to demonstrate that all is not right with the world, makes a throw away reference to Bruce Willis having a record deal.
Uncle Jesse: Yes. You can move your little body back in the house. Look, DJ, I don’t blame you for wanting your own room. But you got to understand; this world’s not a perfect place. Bruce Willis has a record deal. But then a Vanessa shows up at your door, and it all evens out. You know what I’m saying?
Each time I said, "WTF?!"
It was the second time that the internet called to me. How could I not try to find the horror?
And find it I _did_.
It turns out that not only did he get a record deal, but he accepted, and put out many albums. Included in my search I found
The Return of Bruno,
If It Don't Kill You, It Makes You Stronger,
Millenium Series,
Classic Bruce Willis: The Universal Masters Collection,
The Ultimate Collection, and many
LPs, many of which were imported. Covers include "Under the Boardwalk" and "Secret Agent Man" (which seems to be mixed with the James Bond theme!).
This, to me, was one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Genevieve, Michael, and I were in stitches (although truth be told, for the two of them it was probably half the Bruce Willis, singer extraordinaire, and half my enthusiasm and glee over the discovery). We finally found that one of the albums (Return to Bruno, in case you're wondering) had sample tracks, which we listened to. I lost it at that point. I was laughing so hard my face was leaking and my stomach hurt like crazy. But it was _worth_ it.
So of course I added the Ultimate Collection to my Amazon wishlist immediately, but since I didn't really want to wait until it was given to me as a gift or until I coulda afford it, I sent a plea to George who's making me a copy of one he was able to find.
And now, sleep is now soon to come, but first, I leave you with this:
