If you care about Lost you still might not care about this, but I think it's _awesome_.
The Hanso Foundation website shut down at the end of last season under the guise of "hackers" hacking in and trying to discredit the company. I check every once in a while to see if it's back up, and today I noticed that there's a certain part of the front page you can highlight, and it was written in a substitution cipher. So, I started working on it. This is what I started with:
Pdeo eo jkp ukqn bwqhp. Wo ukq kjya odkpaz wp pda pkl
kb ukqn hqjco,
sa'ra whh ckp "xhkkz kj kqn dwjzo." E fqop dkla iu
bneajz eo naopejc awou.
Sdana wna ukq? E'hh jaaz ukq pk iaap ia ej Jknswu.
And, after a couple of hours of trying to figure out the cipher (along with Michael's help), this is what I got:
This is not your fault. As you once shouted at the top
of your lungs,
we've all got "blood on our hands." I just hope my
friend is resting easy.
Where are you? I'll need you to meet me in Norway.
I have no idea what it means, but I'm very excited!
