It is clear to me that I am far too invested in certain shows. Last night this was evident in LOST. I had a very lengthy dream about my mother and I watching next weeks show, which explained much of what was going on on the
island. It seemed very plausible at the time; not really so much anymore. But still, it was so vivid, I wrote it down the second I woke up.
Warning: Because it was plot based, the dream may have spoilery type stuff in it. Not much since it's completely out of continuity with the show (since it was just a dream), but I know some people are crazy about spoilers. Plus, if you haven't gotten into the show, anything I talk about here will at least minorly spoil certain things, so if you're worried and/or don't like spoilers, don't read ahead.
If, however, you're current with the show or just don't care, read or not if want.
... ... ...
The episode started with Boone waking up in a standing position. He was in a cave big enough only for one person to stand in, and he breathed in like it was the first time he ever had. In front of him was a rock the height of the cave closing him in. Panicked he shoved at it until it finally budged enough to fall outward and crash onto the sand. Before he had a chance to get he bearing, Ana Lucia came up behid him, helped him to his feet, and whispered that they had to get to the camp.
(Yes, I know that Boone died weeks ago and he and Ana Lucia would never have known each other; it's a dream, so just pretend!)
She was dripping wet and her eyes had a whiteish glaze to them. But Boone trusted her, so he followed. She led him around the island towards a cliff overseeing the water. They could see the firelight from the camp about 100 feet away. While his back was turned, she shoved him into the water.
The camera panned to watch him fall into the water and disappear. When it turned back to Ana Lucia, she was completely dry, and standing, again, next to Boone, who now had that same whiteish glaze over his eyes and is also perfectly dry. She smiled, and then both walked to the camp where a large group of people sat in a semi circle around the camp fire, and two spaces had been left open for them. It's a wide shot of the area now, and we can see Sun and Kate watching everything at about 40 feet away.
Scene cuts back to what we're used to. Sun and Kate are sharing a shift in the hatch. While on their way to the pantry, they find a door they don't remember seeing before. Kate opens it just as we see a pair of hands punch something in on the computer. Immediately they fall face first into the sand. Ahead of them they see Ana Lucia at the edge of the ocean, diliberately soaking herself with water and sand, then creeping back to crouch behind a tree and watch the side of a rock wall on the right.
Soon, all three of them see Boone push over one of the rocks, freeing himself, coughing and appropriately spooked. Ana Lucia waits a moment for him to catch his bearings, feigning concern and hysteria of her own, and then runs over to him.
Cut back to the cliff, where Sun and Kate continue to follow at a distance confused and terrified. Once Boone and Ana Lucia are sitting, Kate and Sun see a man immediately next to the fire stand up and say something to the group.
Instantly the eyes of everyone are on Kate and Sun, and Ana Lucia is walking towards them almost in a surreally fast manner. Before they even have timeto panic, she already there and dragging them towards the fire. When they get there, they can clearly see the faces of everyone, and recognize over half. Boone and Shannon among many other plane crash victims and about a dozen they didn't recognize.
The man near the fire speaks. "We know you didn't barge on purpose, that's why we'll send you back to wait your turn."
Kate turned to Ana Lucia. "I don't understand, where are we?"
"This is where we exist. The island lives only for our need. You come and we take."
"But, how can you be here and there, everyone else here is dead."
Ana Lucia smiles. The man interrupts "We control everything on the island, includng everyone you've found that's pulled you all together. I think it's time for something new. To help you feel safe. Now, go."
Suddenly Sun wakes up in a bed, screaming. She wakes everyone else up in the process. All the survivors are in a building containing several bedrooms, bathrooms, and a kitchen. Panicked, everyone congregates outside. Sun and Kate both run up to Jack eager to tell him what happened, but the minute they open their mouths the scene freezes except for the wind.
Moments later, everything unpauses, and everyone goes about as if they found the building along with the hatch. Kate and Sun have no memory of where they were, and everyone goes back to sleep.
