I think the busy-ness may never stop!
Yesterday, I was expecting to be much less all over the place then it ended up being, and yet... Genevieve and I got up and moving relatively early considering how exhausted we oth felt (although honestly, she had much better reason to). We headed to her area so's we could stop in on her dad, and do everything required to get her a new copy of her liscence. Unfortunately, the DMV was ridiculously crowded, and even after the line was cut in half by a new lane opening, we still ended up there for about an hour and a half.
This sucked if only because we were unable to really do anything else we'd planned because of it. But we did see her dad to wish him a merry Christmas, and he gave us presents, in the form of money! (Which was very appreciated, and was subsequently spent during the duration of the day.)
We rushed back to my house to meet Michael, twenty minutes late, but we were all sweet and brought him dinner, so it all works out. We ate, hung around a bit, and then had to go out in the later evening to do all the errands we'd wanted to do earlier in the day. Which spawned new places to go and things to accomplish. We ended up at Borders, Target, AC Moore, Total Wine, Walgreens, and a gas station. I did pick up some presents for my aunts and uncles, which I wasn't expecting/planning to do, and feel much better about that. So while the money went very quickly between that and dinner, I got my check today and a present from Lionel, which I promptly put right back in the store (except for the chocolate; the chocolate went right to my tummy)! But, at least I was able to afford the beautiful book I wanted!
Anyway, so after our late-ish night adventure, we came back here with much more alcohol then we usually drink in a year, and sat down to wrap presents, try a couple-a experiment drinks, and have a late-night snack. It was actually a really nice evening. We were busy, and got to bed super late (especially Genevieve), but it was a really kind of nice, relaxing night to spend together.
This morning I helped them get ready for their drive down to South Carolina. I made them breakfast and helped them load up the car. I'm going to miss them over the holiday, but I much look forward to them returning on Tuesday night so we can celebrate. I am getting all sorts of paranoid in the immediate moments because it's nearing 2:00 and I haven't heard from them yet. I know they left at like, 1:30, so considering pit stops and food eating, they probably have either barely gotten there, or not quite gotten there yet, ut still. They're supposed-ta call, so the later it gets, the deeper goes my paranoia. But, hopefully that's all it is.
I had a nice night with my mom. We started catching up on TV shows she's been taping for us (like LOST, CSI, and Numbers), while I gave her a foot massage and she gave me a manicure and pedicure. It was all very girly.
Now I'm mostly trying desperately to avoid all the work I know I have to do! Still have presents to wrap, my room is a disaster, and I need to straighten up the living room and dining room. But really, I don't at all want to. But, once it's all (or mostly) actually done, and I know Genevieve and Michael got down to South Carolina safely, I know I'll feel much better. Probably take a nice hot shower and sleep in late tomorrow since I could really use a good night sleep.
So I should get to doing stuff then.
