Holy crap has it been dead today.
So far, even deader then yesterday.
Yesterday, there was a total of three people that came in, only two of which actually bought anything. I got a chance to watch seven episodes of Lost and reorganize the glass cases. Today, I've broken down boxes, wi[ed everything down, dusted every surface, started to reorganize all of my loose magic cards (I brought them with me for something to do), watched six episodes of SOAP, started checking out the new Serenity roleplaying game (which I have to see if Lionel ordered for me or someone else, 'cause if he didn't order it for me, I want him to get me one), and started straightening up the stockroom. I've been keeing busy, but it's ridiculous how there's like, no one coming in. I feel really bad for Lionel. He called before and I could hear the sadness when I told him what yesterday's total was.
Oh well, hopefully it'll pick up by the end of the month.
Anyway, on to much better things; more reasons why Genevieve and Michael are awesome (and why turing twenty-one rocks):
On Sunday, Genevieve and Michael took me to the Museum of Natural History. So much fun! First we went to the Planetarium / Planets section. I saw my very first real planetarium show. I'd only ever really been to the inflatable ones they bring to schools and set up in the gym. The smelly, warm, tiny ones that you have to crawl through a pitch black tube to get into. And I thought those were cool! This was amazing. And it was narrated by Tom Hanks. The stars looked breathtaking (even if they were just projected). Plus, the seats rumbled. We spent four or five hours going through different exhibits and going to all the gift shops. If I remember correctly we saw the rose center of earth and space, the dinosaur exhibit, the hall of biodiversity (where we tortured Michael; squid!), the hall of oceanic life (I met Genevieve's whale), the northwest coast indians exhibit, the long boat, and... that's all I can remember right now. I think that was pretty much everything we saw. Or, at least, it was everything we spent time seeing.
I had a really excellent time. Not sure it's my favourite museum, but it was definately my best museum experience, with the no fighting, little to no awkwardness, and general goodness of the day. I just loved everything. And I got souveniers! Including mint chocolate chip freeze dried ice cream. Yummy.
After the museum we walked around looking for a chinese restaurant that seems to have closed. So, instead, we went back to New Jersey (which was a good thing, 'cause it was later then I realized) and they took me to dinner at Fridays. I actually ordered my first drink, still wasn't carded, but I ordered it. We went back to my house afterward, relaxed a while, and very satisfiedly, I went to sleep soon after they left.
I am so very grateful. I can't believe everything they've done. I feel all special and loved. And we still have the Steven Lynch concert! And Maryland's soon, which, while not actually part of my birthday, it's gonna be really nice to spend the weekend away together. Especially after the work week I'm having this week. Plus, it'll be my first Saturday of not working in like three months. :D!
So much good stuff. I think if I stay happy too much longer, I just might get spoiled into staying that way.
Okay, 'nough gushing for now. We actually have custumers. Real_live_customers. In the store, and I believe, they may have money. Let's hope they know how to waste it all.
