New poem for Poetry class

Sep 25, 2005 17:27

A whisper flew into my ears,
Tickling my senses,
And filling my mind,
With visions of darkened hallways.

The smell of peppermint permeates the air,
Frost-bitten by the cruelty of the whisper,
It’s teeth, tiny, yet sharp,
Ready to draw blood, pulsating and dark,
if provoked.

Its bitter aftertaste stings the tongue,
With words half-heard,
Betrayal looms above,
Its blackened wings, large and foreboding,
The whisper merely laughs,
The ghost of its words still lingers.

The hallway echoes the whisper’s silent song,
The darkness pulls,
Closer,
And
Closer.

Any feedback would be wonderful dahlings.
