That sounds like a pretty great birth! :) Except for the part where it hurt but I guess you can't really get around that. :)

One of my sister-in-laws was a maternity nurse. She always had an epi when she gave birth.

If men had to bear children, the human race would have died out long ago.

Sounds good! How great to wake up at 10cm! I applaud your choice for the epidural. My second was also without one and I swore I would never do that again. Everyone took that to mean, have another baby, but what I really meant was, do it without an epidural.
