Gifts all over

1. I got a call from my husband on Friday afternoon as I finally got home after work. He asked me what was new and I replied, well nothing.
That's when he became upset.

See, the romantic man that he is, had paid for flowers to be delivered at the Embassy, during that afternoon. Friday was our 6 years of being together. I leave at 4 and the Embassy closes at 4....the delivery people were told that but they arrived at 4.10. I had left but luckily enough, the receptionist hadn't. He was very kind and opened the box, took the bouquet and put them in a jug full of water, on my desk.

I got a call that evening from him, explaining everything. So when I arrived this morning, I had a beautiful bouquet on my desk. And no, the flowers aren't dead yet. Lucky me!
And let's not talk about the note that came with the flowers. Reminds me why I love this man.

2. We went shopping on Saturday because we have a family to attend in June. That and I'm going to the D-Day commemorations the next day too (I'm in charge, go me!). Anyhow, I need something classy & expensive. Operative word here being expensive. I found clothes, I did. I even tried them on and they fit perfectly. A trouser suit (white with black pinstripes & a black top to go with it). Yes, all of it, but still, cost $600. HELLO. Even though it was great, I am not paying that for clothes.
So, even if my husband really wanted to pay for them, I said no and left the store. He kept arguing even while we were on our way back...until he told me I was beautiful in those clothes. Reminds me still why I love this man.

3. I have been invited for lunch in The Village, at Rolland-Garros. Paris tennis tournament, anyone? The Village is the place to be seen during that time in Paris. All the VIPs go there. And I'm invited. Yes, there is something wrong with that picture. Oh well, I've always wanted to go so yeah me. Reminds me why I love my job.

Moral of this story: even when your life sucks one month, it can get better the following one. Eh.
