So much for the NHL. They locked out the players at midnight last night and it doesn't look like it's going to end anytime soon. Tampa Bay won't get the chance to defend their title, not this year, and possibly never again. Unless the NHL gives in this lockout won't end anytime soon I think. Most of the players can go play professional hockey in their own countries so it's not like they are going to be out of work. If they do play the 2005-2006 season I wouldn't count on Andreychuk coming back, he resigned with Tampa Bay but at his age and the fact that he won a championship I would be very surprised to see him wait an entire season to play what would probably be his final season in the NHL.
So long NHL. Say hi to the ABA, AFL, XFL and WUSA for me.
