Well as we all know, the best (read: most horrible) thiung about the stomach flu is that it's highly contagious. Kirsten spent all night throwing up and then this morning Dac had it too. I started off my day at Stop and Shop buying five cans of soup, five gatorades, 7 UP, apple juice, immodium and anti-nausea medication. I assume I looked like a harried mother with a house full of sick children.
My day was full of getting people things and cleaning throw-up buckets with Clorox. Thing is, I didn't mind. In between the getting and the cleaning I read the bulk of an amazing travel memoir (You Can't Get There From Here by Gayle Forman), took a nap on the couch, coaxed a fire in the woodstove for well over an hour before it finally took hold, and watched two Dawson's Creek episodes. It was a good day to stay inside and laze and having two sick people to tend to gave me an excuse.
This winter storm we were supposed to have seems to have fizzled out and my secret desire to cook on the woodstove because we've lost the power doesn't seem like it is going to come true. I guess I'll have to read some Little House on the Prairie and live vicariously.
