update from camp 39
i am currently on day 4 of week 1
my kids are horrible
yesterday two of them got in a fight and i had to get in between them and pull him off the other as he was screaming "i hate you i hate you." They're cousins, so I'm sure they get sick of each other. so then were walking and the one throws a rock at the other one and they attack each other again and once again i have to get between them. im not allowed to discipline, only talk. that's all im allowed to do, love and talk. i never had issues like this last year. ive never seen such immature 4-6th graders. but there's a couple of better behaved ones, and the more lost the campers seem, the more annoyed i get sometimes, but also the more i want to teach them and help them grow.
but anyway, a kid pooped on the back deck of our cabin while i was on break.
the one kid walks in the cabin on the first day and in a weird brittish accent goes "do you think the cabins need refurnished?"
and then he says "i hope they dont serve us fake pudding"
they dont know how to listen, and theyre really immature compared the other 4-6 graders, but i know I'm with them for a reason. it's perfect that they're with an experienced counselor instead of someone that's brand new.
so anyways, every day i check my mailbox about 3 or 4 times just to double check that i dont have anything.
so please send me something! anything!
letters are so nice.
and brownies/cookies/goody packs are even better.
