Turn OFF your cell phone if you don't want to answer it!
Or at least turn down your ringer.
My cubiclemate leaves his cell phones (work and personal) on his desk when he goes out to the shop or outside for his hourly cigarette break. Several times a day one or the other rings at full volume AND, as he has the vibrators turned on, buzzes across his desk. Ours is a small and quiet company so the ringing resounds through the office and it is finding last nerves I didn't know I had to stomp on.
I've tried being passive-aggressive (my default mode), "Y'know, a lot of guys would take their phones with them." I've tried full-on aggression, "If you don't turn down that damned ringer I will kill you!" I've even tried finding middle ground between the two by hiding his phone, but none work.
I give up. I guess I just need to find some more last nerves.
