oh shit! ive got an lj!
ok, so i remembered i have an lj.
this thing sometimes feels like nipples on a man.....purely for show.
anyway, ive been hanging out with a new crowd a bit lately. its a nice breath of fresh air.
just different people to see and be around.
new jokes, new stories, new phrases to learn.
went and hung out friday night. had a blast, watched movies, watched drunks, snuggled on a couch.
yeah, snuggled with a girl i didnt have to inflate. it was fun. it was refreshing, first in a while.
she made me bread today and it was yummy. to quote my new friend lindsey, "it made me happy in my pants."
the only problem with hanging out with the new crowd is not that i feel old. its the back pains and arthritis that does that. its that i realize that i really need to get back on the ball with learning new things. i spent so much time being a one trick pony (politics and warfare) that ive neglected a lot of other things i could be learning about.
its not that im feeling less intelligent than them, its just that they have a different set of knowledge than i do.
i spent so much time in the army being the one who was the enormous genius in comparison to everyone else that i quit diversifying and learning.
i kinda dig the grounding of my ego.
